School prayer is allowed, and has always been allowed. What is prohibited is coercion by agents of the government (teachers, principals, coaches, ...) to pray. The current SCOTUS is rereading the Constitution to allow exceptions for the particular prejudices of the far right to encourage government agents to use coercion. .

Thanks and why can the Supreme Court change the Constitution by itself.
@SaberToothBicycle21 күн бұрын
Because the coequal branches of our government aren't holding them accountable.

When do you allege this happened?
@jamesschrader685521 күн бұрын
Several times however definitely when they said the office of the President is can not be prosecuted for crimes when done as President.
@Mustapha196321 күн бұрын
@@jamesschrader6855 That's not what SCOTUS ruled. Their ruling was that a President may not be prosecuted for legal official acts done as President. For example, absent this limited immunity ruling, Barack Obama could be arrested and charged with the death via a drone strike he ordered of a sixteen year old US citizen who was not known to be connected with terrorism.

@@jamesschrader6855 I am sure that the extremist majority of our current supreme court would claim that they are simply interpreting the constitution despite Sotomayor's dissent making a lot more sense than the tortured logic of the majority. But until the supremes are made accountable, their word is literally law. (Senator Whitehouse has some solutions.)

Belle of the Fifth Column sent me. My question is can you make a more detailed explainer about how amendments could be repealed?
@impartialpoints7 күн бұрын
It's the same process as in this video. It takes a whole new amendment to repeal an amendment.
