Hi Marina... You did this very well.. thank you... To help you feel better about pooping in a bag, I have to do this all the time, every day for all of my life, because I have a colostomy stoma, which is essentially the same as having to do that. I also have a urostomy stoma, which is weeing in a bag. I think I am being as brave as you have been by saying this. (Phil).. xxx

Wheelchair Wonders, I took a glance at your leather work vids. Very nice. Very interesting. Back in 1977 as a young woman, (teenager) I took "Shop Class" my favorite part was leather work. My Dad's birthday was in September and I wanted to make him a trio set. A wallet, key case and belt. My shop teacher saw my talent. When the rest of the class moved on to cars and metal shop he was gracious and allowed me to continue my leather projects. I had the key case finished by his September 22 birthday. I had his wallet and 42 inch belt finished by Christmas. I enjoyed those projects so much. Watching a few of your leather vids brought back some very wonderful memories. For that, I kindly thank you!! My Dad was buried in that belt. It's what he wanted. I wish you joy, health and blessings in all that you choose to do. 😃😁😃

I don’t think you have anything to worry about, it’s natural and we all do it! I had a narrowboat on the canal and it’s very common for boaters to talk about their toilets and lots of people are now opting for a composting toilet which is really just a bottle and bucket with dry material, sawdust, coco coir or even cat litter. They can then pour away the urine and the solids can be bagged a disposed of in waste bins. They are probably the most environmentally friendly toilets as they don’t waste water or use chemicals. As always, thanks for sharing your experience.

You did well there! Dont forgoet the hand sanitizer. The gel that dries on its own is very convenient and you can get little bottles that fit in a pocket. We have a bucket in our van for number 2 and use coconut coir to cover it which is excellent because there is zero pong and it dehydrates the you know what. The pee bottle gets emptied whenever possible and a tree is a good place as dogs have demonstrated since forever.

Thank you for tackling this. I am having to travel while extremely disabled to see specialist surgeons. You would probably not think you would be helping someone like me who has to figure out how to feel safe getting 8 hours away!! It would take an extra hour or more to transfer from the van and take all my “spoons” or energy for the day when I still need to check into lodging and figure out the new environment. Also, I need to be EXTREMELY careful to avoid picking up an infection, like from a public toilet. So, a whole bunch of us have to tackle and talk about poop and pee in respectful but direct ways!

When we went camping with my dad, he always firstly take top turf off for about shoe box size. Dig out the soil leave it in a pile beside dampened turf. Put a wind breaker around the hole for privicy. Do your thing in the hole, put a bit of the soil on top. When you move on, fill hole with surpless soil, put the dampened turf back on top. UK

I agree pooping in a bag is much more pleasant, as some public toilets are so bad you don't want to spend even a second in them. Also thank you for stressing how important it is to not leave your business lying in the open air - I read that when human feces dries, some pathogens can become airborne, so it's a serious health hazard (it's become a huge issue in SF & LA where the huge number of homeless people means everyone doing their business on the sidewalks and parks.)

I've been in that situation where I was parked in an area where I can't drive just anywhere and had to use the bathroom but there are no public restrooms around for miles. I used a bucket and lined it with small trash bags and I did use biodegradable wipes and tissue. I found that many used small liquid fabric softener or laundry detergent container for urine and just wash it out at the next bathroom pour the urine into the toilet. Carry a little liquid soap to clean the container.

When I was living on the Suwannee River in my pop up camper, I had no facilities. I got used to the bucket very easily. I was worried about it because I have IBS but it really wasn't bad. I used a 3.5 L bucket, tripled the bags in case of holes, and a bit of cat litter. Very easy to dispose of and no one was the wiser. I would have gone outside but there were too many people traveling up and down the river at any given time and I was too afraid to be spotted.

I’m in a small van and I tend to have emergencies A LOT like when I have to go I just have to go. So I went to the dollar store and bought a bucket and garbage can liners. If you get larger bags you can triple wrap it just tie a knot near the bottom after you do your thing and use the excess of the bag to wrap around again and tie another knot until you run out of material. Also keep air freshener in your car lol

Oh, this really drives me mad. I'm thinking of making a video specifically on this topic, there's TOO many people that think it's no big deal and just use the outdoors as a big public toilet. I feel everyone should own a shovel and keep it in their backpack and also car when they are driving around! Just spent a few days at the beach and despite there being a toilet 5mn from it people still felt it was ok to leave poop and plenty of toilet paper all the way there. Makes me furious!

I have an app...Where is Public Toilet. Very useful. I have a 10 litre 'laundry' bucket and the travel toilet seat clips on perfectly if we are ever caught out. I saw another youtube where a smaller bucket, lined with a bag, was placed inside the bigger bucket, also lined with a bag just in case. I plan to have plenty of newspaper on hand to line the small bag as well as use it to parcel up my poop rather than double bagging it. I assume it will take a bit of practice to find the correct position of bum over bucket.

In answer to your question. = Well wee open the toilet door lift the seat and sit down. When buying a van it was the number one and number two on our list. Cheers from George and Jane.

Having lived in a van I know this stuff and worked it out for myself but I still just had to watch 🤭 It occured to me that it's a bit sad that you have to explain to people to be considerate. I do remember some Route National toilets which made pooping in a bag the preferred option 😂

Delicately covered Marina. If you have sufficient space a "Nature's Head" composting toilet is very good for number 2s. No smell. The faeces (another word for poop) is mixed in with garden peat, and doesn't need emptying for a long time. 1 - 2 months for one person.

@@WildSheGoes Hi Marina, Yes, it would be hard to find room in Pam. They are a little taller than normal caravan toilets I believe.
