It was hit by an EF4 tornado in 2010, and the insurance company spent an entire year trying to convince the board of education that 25% (at least) was salvageable. Thank you, insurance company, for letting our destroyed high school continue to sit there for an entire year, through rain, sleet, and snow, traumatizing all of us every time we had to drive by. And we drove by often because it was located on the corner of a very busy state route that many of us had to use to get to the Interstate that led into Toledo, Ohio proper. We had had many parties that had underage drinkers in attendance (including myself, and yes we all had permission from our parents to be there, too), and there wasn't a damn thing the police could do about it because the Amish wouldn't give permission to the police to break up our parties. According to a June 4 2020 York University study: +89 per cent of Chinese expressed their satisfaction toward the national government (CCP under Xi) on information dissemination during the pandemic. +81 per cent were satisfied with the national government on deliveries of daily necessities and protective supplies. According to a July 9 2020 Harvard University study: +95.5 percent of Chinese were either “relatively satisfied” or “highly satisfied” with Beijing (CCP under Xi). I'm not saying Xi or the CCP is great, but the vast majority of Chinese people seem to be satisfied with how things are going. When I first watched this video I was sitting down at school, eating lunch. Now I've been at home for over two months and I havn't been inside I building other then my house in 6+ weeks. At some point he said this would be one for the history books not knowing how true that statement would be. At the time of writing China isn't even in the top 8 countries by number of cases. A country with a population of over 1 billion managed to keep there cases and deaths down despite being overwhelmed and unprepared. This is proof that China, even with it's flaws, can protect it's people, it's citizens lives. America has over 1.5 million cases at the time of writing this, this is the fault of not just our leaders but the citizens. We are an embarrassment and should be remembered as so. America alone is responsible for the death of over 100 thousand human lives. What has happened is a travesty and it's only getting worse. I will come back to this video one year for now and reply to this comment. My hope is that the reply will be one of joy as Im close to finishing my junior year of high school and COVID is eradicated and cured. But if we do not do something this could cost millions, tens of millions of human lives. So if you read this stay inside, wear a mask when going outside, social distance, and keep in mind that this bigger then anything modern humans have experienced and you should not priorities yourself or the economy, prioritise the lives of those who could be affected and hope for a better future. 1 Year Later: I mean a lot has happened, the past year has been far far worse then I could have possibly imagined, millions dead, billions of lives affected, and my life and country changed forever, now some good things have happened such as trump being kicked out of office but tbh that might be it but things are getting better, covid restrictions are starting to end where I live and I live in the worst county in the us for covid cases by number so that's saying something, but in other places like India things are getting worse not better. This past year has taught me that I should take nothing for granted and I need to appreciate what and who I have while I have it/them

Also just pointing out that it's unfair to china because though the COVID 19 pandemic did start in china, the spanish flu around the 1900s started in the US and no one blamed the US for it, and china is getting all the blames. By the way, the spanish flu or the influenza was way more deadly and had a way higher fatality rate than this pandemic we're facing rn.

It's more about the efficiency of Chinese construction crews and experience with time saving methods than engineering. China wouldn't be hiring foreign architects and engineers for any buildings that really push the limits of engineering if they are 100 percent confident in their own engineers.

Since 2004, the Shanghai metro added 12 new lines totalling 511.2 km of rail. DC metro hasn't been totally stagnant, but this one line that connects a city to its biggest airport, a project that has been planned since at least 2004 and is under construction, still hasn't been completed in 15-16 years.

Tbh, both sides are filled with propaganda, both sides wants their people to believe the other is bad and an enemy. I dislike CCP but I don't think it's as bad as the western media claims it to be. In the end, no side is perfect and fighting over which is better is pretty pointless, the people of China are still humans like the rest of us, they've suffered 2020 like the rest of us did, there's really no need of hating either side, but the governments want the people against each other, destroying unity, trust and brotherhood.

> Half the comments: Chinese people being toxic > Other half of comments: western people being toxic Toxic people being toxic. The big problem with social media (including comments on KZbin videos) is that for some reason, too many people (from all countries) act much worse towards all other users than they would act if speaking to other people directly. In other words: social media brings out the toxic side in many people, which is really sad, but I don't know to fix this. In my home country (Germany) there are now even laws in place that try to curb hate speech, since there are some people on social media that are so toxic that even death threads can happen as soon as someone says something controversial. Therefore, death treads can now land you in jail, since it's the only way to get some of the worst to behave like sane adults. Yes, we have freedom of speech, but it's not completely unlimited, since it has been abused when it was unlimited, making some rules necessary.
