Thank you I know it was a bit long but I needed to explain the product for people who already know about these along with people just starting out with these old cameras. I actually looked at the ClonerAlliance ViewPro and it has everything you would need for going tapeless like I mentioned. Internal battery, 1/4 threads, and even a mount for mounting it to a camera. Only thing it’s missing is a FireWire port. If they could just update the viewpro model with FireWire it would be perfect.

"TF Transfer" prolly makes the device look like a mass storage device when connected to a PC so you can move the contents of the SD card over. Does "auto" resolution mean that it records to native resolution without upscaling? Can it turn 60 interlaced fields into 60 unique progressive frames like the Clearclick Video 2 Digital 2.0? Will it split recordings up into 2 or 4GB chunks or allow continuous recording to single file?

I would assume the auto resolution is probably 480 or 1080 since those are the two resolutions I could really find. And for the 60 interlaced Fields I’m not sure. I know it records footage at 30fps and not 60fps like the clearclicks do. I didn’t have enough footage to test how long it will record for. I would guess it would record separate smaller files just in case you run out of memory or the file corrupts somehow.

I want to get this one for the remote but no 4:3 is a really a bummer, does that mean the playback is stretched-out when playing back on site? Meaning if you're out there recording footage you don't have accurate playback in mesure to make adjustements.

Yeah you’ll have to find a way to convert the footage back to 4:3. Or if you have a camcorder that has the option to record in 16:9 you can do that too

Hi, Brandon, need some advice with camera pick.. I have around 600$ budget to buy a digital camcorder with 37mm filter for skateboarding videos, can you suggest some? I’ve tried to enter your discord, but it was invalid. I mentioned the filter size, because I have quite old but good lens of that size (sorry for the possible mistakes, English isn’t my main language)

I guess it just depends on what you want. There are alot of Sony hi8 camcorder you can look at. You can also check out the Sony pc100 or pc110. Those cameras are a little goofy looking but they look good for skating

So in your opinion which convertor is good for converting. Please give an honest answer. I loved recording with camcorders. In that age and era. I have tons of old VHS, DVDs, Mini DVDs and audio tapes. I also recorded in LP (long play) making a 3hrs vidro to 6 hrs sometimes 8 hrs recording. Which one will convert an LP nicely? Please guide me which one should i buy? This one or Clear Click verion 3? Thanks! I would really appreciate it because I will buying my first convertor.

In my opinion I thought the footage that the cloner alliance recorder captures looks just a bit better than the clearclick ones. And when you buy this you will get a code to use so you can download a few other software’s ClonerAlliance makes for free. One of them is an ai enhancing program and it will make your old footage look just a bit better. So definitely more bang for your buck with the ClonerAlliance. They also have a pro version that might have better capture quality as well.

i have a sony hdr hc1, been using a firewire to transport my footage to my computer but it’s using lots of tapes and it’s putting a lot of work on my tape heads, is the cloner alliance (i forgot what this device is called already) a good choice for my cam ?

Yeah only thing is you won’t get FireWire. So you won’t be getting a true digital signal

Yeah you can use this to go tapeless. It would be the same method as the clearclick 2.0

For camcorders that allow for date and timestamp overlay on your footage, can you have that show up on tapeless recordings?

hey i tried to record some footage on obs from my canon zr40 but the audio and video output wouldn't preview on obs. I dont have this capture device thats in this video, I got a cheap usb capture card. i'm wondering if my output on my camcorder is faulty or if its the capture device. i dont want to spend the money for a capture card like the one in the video if i don’t have to, if it was the cameras output that was faulty the whole time. do you have any ideas what could be wrong or what i should do?
