There is a dedicated cleaning cycle where you drop a cleaning tab in the pre ground coffee chute… This is separate from the dedicated descale cycle which is used to remove calcium, not clean the machine. In the program you can set the machine to “Filter” YES. The Jura filters are a double duty device. They are half water softener to remove calcium; and half filter to remove chlorine and other chemicals and contaminants. They contain a mix of water softener resin beads and activated charcoal filtering granules. It’s a very ingenious design. I change the filter every time the machine displays the prompt. But I run a cleaning cycle every week. Mainly to keep the spouts clean. The Jura tabs are quite expensive but you can use a teaspoon of OxyClean and a micro drop of Dawn dishwasher detergent for about 1 cent! Just drop it in the pre ground coffee chute when prompted to add the tab. The MSDS reveals the tabs to be precisely this, washing soda and detergent. DON’T overdo the Dawn! Your video's are very helpfull. I have a jura impressa x95 and its not dispensing coffee out of the 2 spouts and no hot water for tea . Its won't rince either. Any idea's as to whats wrong.

Isn't there an actual descale cycle? Why are you putting coffee through, why not just pretend to make a pre-ground drink, or hit rinse to get the cleaner into the machine.

Hey Nick, very cool Vids - Question, what is the thing on the right side, on the bottom. It is a pump for the milk steamer (yours is kinda yellow with a white label on it.). Mine is quite rusted. I turned the descaling program three times because a nozzle was a bit stuck and now water flowing out of the middle of the nozzle. Is it possible that there is now a coffee spill in the nozzle that causes this behaviour?

What's the name of the part you said frequently corrodes that is near the front right of the unit when it is assembled? It looked like a small metal piece -- want to be sure we order the right part! Thanks!
