It’s funny to watch this compared to the interviews from the 60s. Some of the people here seem like they’re in more of a hurry and not as friendly or open to talking. I wonder why.

Chapel Street was so much cleaner back then, I barely recognised it. I would give the rest of my life to relive 1988. I still had hope for humanity and the planet back then. Now all I can do is wait for the silent darkness to fall.

@@throughthedesert6572 You will be releived to know then that Australia is lowering it's migrant intake as of next year. We also have made a deal with New Zealand to take alot of the asylum seekers that come to us. That is ontop of our border patrol policy that any migrants or asylum seekers who invade our borders will never be allowed to stay, they are held in detention centres and then sent to another country. It may be trendy to be racist or homophobic but I'm not. I treat people as I find them and I beleive if you're not hurting anyone else you have the right to live your life however you want. That is the beauty of being Australian.

We immigrated after the fall of the Soviet Union and in my experience what really made Australians suffer was outsourcing a lot of jobs overseas as well as factories closing down. Also the increase of methamphetamine production and use among the peoplle that came from familes that relied on those jobs. THAT'S where it went wrong. Not the intake of refugees or immigrants because a lot of those people come here to work and build new lives which greatly contributes to the economy however it has also driven a lot of Aussies away from major cities and into other places. That and the recent Chinese investors land grabbing and building ugly apartments around our suburbs that remain half empty for a year or two because a lot of ordinary people can't afford rent by themselves and living with others isn't too great for a young family...

I honestly don't remember The Factory segment at all but I was only 10 at the time, maybe it was 4pm-like show?! But true denim never ever goes out of style. I have a generation Z buddie that always wore a blue denim jacket and pants in the time I hanged out with him and he certainly would've stood out in 1988 let alone now. He looked really good in the attire as well, better than me and I'm a Gen X... well a Xennial etc.

At 0:12, the boy in 90s already had rag and bone style. I can see Australia Jean textile skill wasn't as good as the US ones that they had Hunter green, tan colored and velvet type of Jean. Australia most got bleach light color or black, not many options like Levis ... Oh, a pair of Levis Jean cost > $150 USD but some bought back 2nd hand Jean at uni for $50 while stone style was fashioned back early 90s. Got a lot of uni classmates mentioned about selling recycle Levis Jean

The interviewer girl was doing the most imo, but it seemed like some of the people she interviewed were cool with her, or they were kind of just going along with it, like theyre already in the social situation and they're just talking. Idk how to explain it, and I feel like I see that differently than most, cuz when I bring stuff like that up people tend tp question me and I thought it mightve been relatable and it ends up not being relatable and people just, again, question it.
