I was 13 when both HOTEL CALIFORNIA & RUMOURS came out. Those two albums duked it out in the charts for over a year. You couldn't turn on the radio without hearing an Eagles song or a Fleetwood Mac song within 10 minutes.

Hotel California couldn’t touch Rumours at the time. Rumours was and is still one of the great 1970s albums. Not taking away from HC, but it was no Rumours. Tusk? Well, that’s a whole different story. Lindsey phucked that album up with weirdness.

Thanks for asking Bill about MIchael Stanley. I knew they were friends on record and personally. I wanted to tell something Bill didn’t mention. For All of Michaels solo albums which there were a lot , Bill didn’t ask for a penny and did it for free ! Thanks again.

I was stationed in Vegas 73 and 74 and I seem to remember another Fleetwood Mac toured through. I think it was Jeremy Spencer and company, but the fans weren't having it and tore the place down.

It was the popularity (and song writing skills) of Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles that helped tank the popularity of "The Band". It was hard to seduce a woman in college while listening to "Don't Do It" or even "The Weight". But very easy if your listening to any track from Rumors and/or Hotel California.
