premium. - I was Systems configuration engineer for our Cisco hardware at a large international company 5+ years ago; and you hit the nail on the head without going into excruciating detail. Real Instructor level stuff. - keep it up. - I couldn't remember a syntax and you helped me find it quick - then i went back and watched your whole video. - Great job!

I really like this man. Your voice is much clearer than others, and you take the time and care. (thank you for doing this) So many others mentioned the music volume and that is true. But what drives me nuts is the windows bings! Holy cow, they like make me jump! I'm a laugh about it guy, so hopefully it's taken that way. Anyway, thanks again, I will definitely check out more of your stuff.

Hi Duan I'm a beginner and I have one 2950 switch for a lab and was working well until I connect it to a net gear modem-router combo that has access to the internet.The switch worked well for about 5 to 10 minutes had good ventilation and 2 pcs conected, and then it start to show random symbols,letters and numbers every time I write a command line. Could be that the 12.1 iso get corrupted in some way some how, or cisco itself encript it for some reason. Please bring me some light, thanks.
@LabEveryday7 жыл бұрын
Sounds like it could be a couple of things. Did you restart the switch and it did the same thing? Are you using putty?
@olmokobie44717 жыл бұрын
Thanks for answer , yes I restart the 2950 switch, and yes I am using putty. To test the cable, the adapter and the pc ,I swich to a catalyst 3750 and worked fine. The 3750 has never been conected to the internet, I dont even know if im allow to connect them to the internet.
@LabEveryday7 жыл бұрын
When you say connect to the internet, you mean? Does it only have that issue when you connect it to the netgear modem?

hi D, just a suggestion. In your videos we hear a lot of windows notification noise, which can be distracting. My i suggest changing the sound scheme to NoSound when recording. Just my 2 cents. As you may know telnet is an insecure protocol that would send passwords in clear text across the network, not a prob in your homelab, but frowned upon i. most enterprises. Perhaps jist mention SSH to your viewers, ormaybe even do a seperate video on that topic.
@jorgenrhodejensen7 жыл бұрын
Great - Please dont take this as me complaining. Just suggestions - I think you are doing a great job on this series. I think you are right, that everyone have to start somewhere, so doing the basics first it crusial. Keep it up

He doesn't explain any reasons for issuing commands. He just memorizes the command line syntax and just says "thats what you have to do". Anyone can memorize a list of command structures, but to fully understand what they really mean is something totally different. Very poor skill set not to know or not be able to explain why you do something.
