do you notice a difference in your energy when you cover your hair?

Personally, my Shalum isn't in my head covering, but in the amunah (faith ) in trusting in the written dabar (Word) of YAHUAH. submission to recognizing HIM as my covering and head.

I noticed a different vibration from others with my dreadlocks. I love my hair and I attract different kinds of people such as the good and the judgemental type of people. My dreadlocks gives me confidence like a bold lion. At the end of the day, I appreciate my hair for doing what it suppose to do.

I’ve been covering for about 6 weeks now and I love what it does for my spirit and my confidence. I feel so happy and level headed and connected to God when I cover, and now I never want to stop!

I have had to also try and find balance between covering and uncovering, but I find I only want to uncover at home, sometimes my backyard, and around people I truly know and trust. I started my locs about 2 weeks ago and I have already noticed way more people drawing to my energy, but when I’m covered I feel like I have a better filter on what energy comes in and out of me.

I have had locks for 12 years and have never covered my hair, and have had no issues with "energies" God is my covering, which is stronger than any hair covering. Psalms 91:4 In-Context - 4 (90-4) He will overshadow thee with his shoulders: and under his wings thou shalt trust. God is a more robust protection than any not piece of cloth. I believe the mind is very powerful, and when we believe something good or evil, this will be our reality. Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Trust God, he is greater than any negative energy.

I cover my locs every night and try to stay sensitive to others energy in the daytime. As an empath, I must protect my personal space and walking temple.

I work in the hospital and take NYC subway to work...so I feel protected covering my locs. I feel like I'm keeping all the negative energy in the city away. ❤❤

Oh I get it. I think it comes and goes in seasons. When I’m stressed out and everything just feels high energy, I put on a scarf for days even weeks. If I’m in a mood and having a bad day I look at my hair first and it just spirals from there lol so to protect my locs from ME being affected by my environment, I have to wrap them up until I’m ready to re-appreciate them again. So far it’s been a good method for me for almost 3 years

Covering them as needed and when you go to sleep, protection & cleanliness. I have a "outside bonnet " i go outside with my dog, and an inside/ sleep bonnet. Washing and cleansing the locs, especially the scalp. If I'm around someone or a place and it doesn't sit well, I'm washing my locs, also if it left a smell. Going certain places i well cover them. I was hospitalized for 4 days and i went with my hair wrapped and kept it wrapped, only down to shake and breathe then covered. All these are essential for many reasons. I massage my scalp when I wash it, I take my time when I wash my hair. In June started my 2nd set of self started & maintained locs. These are coils, 1st set 2 strands. I cut my locs off in April after 5 years locd and them to my bra strap. I'd been contemplating since Nov in cutting them. After going through literally hell, death, loss & mental illness the past 3 years, I felt they were no longer a part of me- like dying branches. The damage from stress & lack of care was repairable, but something just said cut them. After a finalized divorce in May from an Abusive narcissist, I am literally starting over mentally physically spiritual financially - I felt my locs also needed to reset with the new quest I am on. I'm one of those who'd never cut my locs unless it was medical. I've been on so many sides of locs. Locs have different meaning to people, but if their not just a hairstyle, you definitely understand how they are a part of you, energy, vibe etc. 🙏🏾🦋

So I have just started wearing hats. A baseball cap and bucket hats. I absolutely love them. I was on vacation and the first day in the sun didn’t wear my hat and noticed my scalp felt a lil itchy. Like it needed a cover so the remainder of the vacation during the day in the sun I’d have a hat on and loved the looks it gave as well.

I’m literally WAITING for the weather change so I can put my tam back on. Starting locs after wearing wigs for so many years was like WHOA. I didn’t realize that the synthetic wig I was wearing was blocking a lot. A silk wrap with my tam on top gives me such a peaceful, secure feeling.

I cover my loxs from time to time but then wonder if I have gone across the line where they say you shouldn't wear bonnets outside. It's the saying braid scarf I slept in and then I just have the need to reveal the goodness underneath 😂

Thank you for sharing! That's interesting about energy. I had a loctician who made me feel horrible and hurt me (too tight) and I did not let her finish my hair. I lost my deposit and that was what made me learn how to loc and maintain my own hair. I covered my hair for a day after I removed the locs she installed. I didn't pay attention to my feelings about covering my hair. I wish I had paid closer attention to that. I will pay more attention to how I feel covering my hair going forward. ✌🏾💜

Interesting 😮 because of my personal spiritual walk, yes I have a head covering on my locs often. Along with wearing my zitits, these dress requirements remind me that I pray with my head covered, and I have a covenant with YAHUAH. Perhaps you're on a spiritual journey? Be aware of energies and spirits. LOOK TOO ALUHIM FOR TRUTH. Praying for US 🙏🏽 ❤SHALUM
