At first Cedar Point opened up Hotel Breakers when Ohio allowed resorts to open but not amusement parks. Friday, Saturday, Sunday only and they provided a nice dinner each night for all the guests and it was all very affordable which is unlike Hotel Breakers haha. My wife and I went up for our anniversary and had a blast enjoying the beach, great food and their bar, they also had a gentleman that operated a Segway tour inside the park and around the lake on site and we tried it out. Was surprised how much fun we had on the Segway’s haha. We had a blast and regretted not taking the kids, so the following weekend we took our three kiddos for a unique get away. Crazy to be at the park while it’s closed but the staff did a fantastic job making everyone feel comfortable and provide as much as they could.

Breakers opened about a month before the park. Didn’t stay there though so never knew what they were doing or offering.

2019 (with my ex-soulmate Marissa) was an amazing year to be alive, including at Cedar Point. Dragster managed to be operating all nine days we spent together that year... two three-day summer trips, and one three-day Halloweekends trip. It was amazing.

My visit in 2020 is the only visit I regret taking to CedarPoint due to the forced slowdown of operations & forced pausing of rides to disinfect every 30min

The cleaning process was long and pretty frequent (every park we went to every 30 minutes) but it was better than no coasters at all.

I got word (no not from the DipNDots guy lol) in 2018 that Wicked Twister would be gone soon and they'd be adding a "throwback to the past." Also said that in the next "few" years, the Big Wheel would be the only thing left in that area that was there in 2018. He said that Windseeker was a mistake for all of the parks.. Still, I hope it doesn't get removed.

Never heard windseeker was on the chopping block. Can’t see them removing that, it takes up barely any land and only a few employees to operate.

The ERT nights for passholders was great. We asked Tony if those would ever come back and he said the event wasn’t popular enough. That’s a lie because it was always very popular when we went.

I thought Cedar Point was open until midnight in the 1990’s. My grandparents and I used to go at 5 p.m. and stay until closing.

2020 was a great year for riders. When the park opened after fighting with Mike Dewine. There was nobody in the park. My son and I were there. The parking lot had about 3 car rows full. We were riding rides with no wait and no one on them, they let us just kept going. There were more employees then guest in the park. It took about 6 weeks for the park to get more guest back. Everyone was scared to go out of there house. We were partying like rockstars! Then CP gave us free passes for the next year! I felt bad for them as our food pass and perks were added again for free too.

We went from opening day until closing day and found different experiences. By August we bought season long fast lane so we definitely got a lot of use out of those the last few months.

Magnum gate is still great for early entry, it’s just for hotel guest.

You can sneak in through a little bit of Lake Erie if you don't mind a bit of a swim... They don't ask for hotel receipts or room keys or anything. You just can't drive there anymore. Park in regular (or preferred) parking at the front of the park, I usually go early and park around 23b or 23c and if I want to use the eastern gate (no reason to in 2022, but in 2024 it will be huge for obvious reasons even if ttd2 isn't an early entry coaster) then I'm not past getting a little sandy and/or wet in Lake Erie.

The next best coaster and it's orange.. Wild Mouse, obviously! I'm still so beyond upset about Town Hall.. I loved going in there and I was SO excited with the concept art! Truly a loss, especially with all the items auctioned off.

2019 was the high water mark for operations. I can remember being able to park in the back and enter the magnum gate and get a ride on maverick and do laps on Millennium before ERT ended. By 2021 you were lucky to get one ride in during ERT. Also, the closing of town hall makes me sad. I have a lot of fond memories playing the Penny arcade before they sold all the machines. Same thing with the main arcade when they used to have pinball and the classic games. It kills me they let that stuff go.

I worked at cedar point the summer COVID began as an intern. The experience I received was still good, but not obviously what it could've been! I always wonder what it would've been like full everyday. I was the newspaper intern for the park and it would've been a complete 180 if that were the case

The one positive thing that came out of cedar point and this includes ki as well...but the tricks n treats fall fest is still around...but as a family daytime event...

The fall fest was definitely a plus from that time. And it ultimately led to us getting Thursdays for Halloweekends

Wow, I never realized how big the attendance jump was from 2020 to 2021. I didn't visit the park at all in 2020, so the difference between 2019 and 2021 wasn't extremely noticeable to me.

19 to 21 was pretty significant financially I’m sure but for us guests something we’d never really notice. But yeah, 2020 was just dead. It just seemed busy because of the staggered rows on trains and cleaning every 30 minutes. Lines were crazy until we got season long fast lane in august of that year.

@@BeachcliffStudios Oh for sure. I went after the reservation requirements were removed, which probably explains why I didn't notice much a crowd difference, because I'm sure that's when a ton of other people started coming back as well.

I'm sure staffing problems affect early entry. Steel Vengeance requires a lot of carpenters checking it every single morning. who knows if they have enough carpenters to get that thing open early every day.

Definitely not enough carpenters but the length of time it takes for the pre opening is a large reason it’s not open early. The sheer amount of loose bolts and broken wood took a while to get it up and going.

When I look at the future of Cedar Point, within the massive Six Flags corporation now, I see them scaling back bigtime as far as investments go in the future. I feel like chainwide, we are going to see many park's plans go down the drain as the larger corporation looks to pay off debt and make shareholders and executives happy. Things like the unfortunate RMC Gemini and Magnum getting the Nessie treatment are the kinds of things I am thinking going forward.

Will I be able to ride top thrill by my self because my boyfriend can't ride and I never have anyone to ride with so I have to ride by myself and someone I work with told me that single riders will not be able to to ride that you have to have someone to ride with

You’ll 100% be able to ride on your own. Your co workers may have heard there won’t be a single rider line and got confused.

@@MelissaCreech-t6p if they heard there was no single rider LINE. they may have mistaken that with no single riders. I can 100% assure you that you can ride as a single rider. You may be asked to pair with another single rider or you may ride alone, but you’ll definitely ride.

I was really upset about that because I've been waiting for a long time dragster has always been my favorite ride so when I heard that I was really worried I wouldn't be able to ride that I would be told I couldn't ride

Personally they really need to go back to the way early entry was. Even back in 2022 I believe the early entry rides were valravn gatekeeper iron dragon magnum and millennium force which was way better than this past year.

That year was definitely decent for early entry, gave you a chance to get some great rides before the crowds came pouring in.

We didn’t do cp in 2020. Just wasn’t worth the effort. Plus I didn’t want to see the park in such a state. I wore a mask at work in a/c but outdoors in summer was no fun.

Especially considering we now know there was really not much risk of outdoor transmission in the first place. Requiring outdoor masking might have made sense in like April of 2020 when there was still a lot we didn’t know about the virus, but by the time it became clear that outdoors was the safest place to be, everyone was already in lockstep with masking policies in all public places, and too terrified to revise them.
