Legion, Legion needs the overhaul the most. In my last playthrough, Vulpes tripped on a static object and exploded into pieces, welp, there goes a third of the legion quests, of what little they have.

The Followers. In Fallout 1 they were so badass, helping the Vault Dweller infiltrate the Cathedral thanks to an undercover Followers agent and otherwise gaining control of the L.A. Boneyards by the end of the game. A major faction like that that's been around longer than the NCR has existed is definitely overdue for an overhaul, especially since most faction overhaul mods tend to focus on most factions that AREN'T the Followers.

I am incessantly let down by the NV Followers. I've never played the classic games, but even still, I feel like the game is very inconsistent with them. On the one hand, the followers are successful enough to have this big base of operations and an outpost, sprinkle missionaries throughout the wastes, they make an attempt on House's network (an entirely futile attempt, but still), and they lead Veronica to question her own faction. Yet, even with all the support of the courier available, the independent ending always ends with Vegas in chaos and the followers overwhelmed. And, idk, I guess that's something to be said of the nature of their philosophies, and anarchy at large in a way. It just feels incomplete tho. You can have so much variation in an NCR or House victory, and even to a lesser extent with the Legion. But independent playthroughs always feel the same at the end cards, whether you were a saint or a butcher. Maybe I just have too much faith in them, idk 🤷‍♀️

Personally I kinda like that aspect of west coast fallout. It isn’t static, but rather ever changing. The followers and brotherhood were a big deal in Fallout 1, but it’s been well over a hundred years since then and we can’t expect that would necessarily stay the same. For the brotherhood they fell because of their isolationism and xenophobia, whereas I think the followers started stumbling because of their devotion to their ideas spreading them too far, making them ill equipped to push back against the NCR. Just my feelings though.

Yeah. The Legion are irredeemably evil (slavery and crucifixion,) but I’d like there to be more to them so they’re at least interesting bad guys. One mod I like (although I’d imagine it would be more annoying if officially in the game) is one that limits NCR merchants and Legion merchants to accepting only their factions currencies. And there’s some slaver Legion quest mod out there, too. Time and budget cuts be a bitch.

I hate to bust your balls about the feral ghoul re-texture, but everything about them exists for a reason. Starting with the fact that most of them are 200+ years old, stemming from the great war. Ergo, effects of said war would probably be permanently affixed to their bodies. Such as their blank white soulless eyes. They were likely blinded by the flash of the nuclear hellfire, or their eyes melted in the aftermath along with the rest of their physical being. Following with their lack of garments. You don't see a lot of pre-war store mannequins still wearing clothing after 200+ years do you? No, cause clothing just straight up doesn't last that long against the elements. Not to mention they could have easily just been burned up in the nuclear hellfire 200+ years ago. Feral ghouls wandering around the wastes after 200+ years in the same outfit aren't going to be much different. Everything about them is meant to be there. You just have to pause and think about it.

The most compelling argument I've heard about gouls is that it's both, searchlight for example has gouls made entirely due to radiation, unless FEV is in every human somewhat and radiation just completes which doesn't appear anywhere that I know of. While Harold is made from FEV.

IIRC part of the reason the Enclave wanted to wipe out everyone at the end of Fallout 2 was because everything living on the surface (IE: anyone who wasn't an Enclave citizen or a Vault Dweller still in a Vault) was, by that point, infected with FEV to some extent - which is also why they kidnapped everyone still in Vault 13 at the beginning of the game, to use them as "control" samples. That being said though, I believe ghoulification IS completely tied to radiation exposure, with FEV not really being a factor. You could argue that FEV exposure gives someone a higher _chance_ to become a ghoul, but I don't think it _causes_ it.

There is a flaw with your logic on re-texturing the Mantis. They were originally created in Vault 22, a place overgrown with *green* plants. So not all of them should become brown like the mod makes them to be

I'm noticing a lack of actual visual examples to back up the claims. For example, the centaurs. Centaurs didn't have a ton of diversity in fo1 and 2. Similar issue with your example for Super mutants. It's not hard to look up what they looked like and see vascularity wasn't something their body was known for having, but you can see their skin is almost more akin to an elderly person, having ridges and divets more akin to cracked, aged, withered skin, covered in wrinkles. In other words: you're being biased and misleading while trying to convince people these are more accurate. I would also point out your vascularity arguement is more akin to fo3 supermutants, than fo1 or 2 super mutants. Look up Uncle Leo for a clear and clean example... Y'know... The game you used an extreme example of in the super mutant overlord, a dlc creature, in order to blanket-bash the entire game's design.

My only complaint with "horrors of the new West" was when they changed the eyes. Keeping the look of the OG clay model is why I liked it and the eyes were the main reason I liked the clay model. Gave it a creepy vibe, alongside the rest of its monstrous shape. 10:26 And now I'm thinking about reading Jojolion. The textures make their skin look a bit too rough, but the horns are a nice touch.

Great video, especialy liked the muties n' ghouls section, and the creature variety mods. But for nighstalkers and some other animals I always picked GUN stuff, and Dragbody's Nexus releases too, they just keep the vanila vibe but hd, but they kinda make them stick a bit out of the style.

Yo, help a brotha out! I've having trouble getting the Horrors of The New West to work so that it only uses the Deathclaw babies and infants. I've deleted all textures and meshes except for the infant and baby meshes, and deleted the all textures and meshes except the textures and meshes for the baby deathclaws (deathclaw_baby_n and normal deathclaw_baby) but nomatter what I do I always get a red exclamation mark for the infant/baby deathclaws. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is it possible to upload screenshots of each creature in "Prodlimen Creature Integration Pack" with unique authors name for new models, plus standard vanilla name of what they replace and suitable descriptions of their code name in the config? Because i tried search and find "Floating TVs" in the ini file and can't do that. It's hard to understand who is who and which line belongs to whom. In my opinion an insufficiently detailed description of mods is the only one which always makes it difficult to use.

I have a question, you see, it turns out that I am super arachnophobic and it turns out that the monster mod, both versions, add spiders and I wanted to know if they can be disabled so that I don't have a panic attack in the middle of the game.

This is such a beautiful overhaul❤️‍🔥 Truly. FO4 ruined alotta things. Including feral ghouls, mutants and all the rest, kinda got it right with the deathclaw and yua guai. Sad times

NV would have been a very different game if bethesda hadn't said "You got 18 months to do what we did in years, good luck" They had to cut and miss so much of what they wanted to put in because of bethesdas greed.

A mod that lets Cazadors to ignore the player unless attacked would be great. Shame that I play Xbox, and those hellspawn have internal radar it seems. Especially on the North side of Lake Mead.
