I haven’t touched the game in 2 years but I do remember it’s close to a black hole. Also the map is a donut shape and I remember the launch star is near the big middle hole in the map. I used to grab the bee suit and I would fly to it but I would be sucked in the black hole.

It's actually possible to do this trick with just a tanooki leaf, no moon jump! I'll explain everything I know So when you softlock the Bowser fight, there are two ways to do it. One, landing on the switch before the fight starts, which I just found out about now, or two, landing on the switch during the Bowser fight, but before Bowser can catch up to the end of the bridge, which causes the game to endlessly wait for Bowser to fall into the lava, which was the softlock I stumbled across a long time ago, back when I was playing a ton of this game. What you want to do is go to a castle stage where you can hover across the approach towards the Bowser bridge, such as the first castle in the special world. It all began with me getting bored, and deciding to run backwards through the stage when I reached Bowser. But by doing this, I had realized that I juked Bowser all the way to the far left of the bridge, which gave me an idea. I had retraced my steps, hovered across that large gap, and skipped the entire bridge. Bowser was still on the far left, and now all that was left for me to do was to hit the switch. Now Bowser can clear a ton of distance in just one hop, and he will immediately stop what he's doing and try to hop towards the end of the bridge once Mario is there. But since he follows you throughout the fight so closely, the developers never intended for Mario to be more than two hops away from Bowser, and skipping the bridge was able to give us that distance. So when we press the switch, Bowser's behaviour will change to finish the jump he is currently doing, and then stop dead in his tracks afterwards, because the game thinks he is already at the end of the bridge, and is waiting for him to do that animation where he grabs the air and falls into the lava, which results in the game being softlocked forever

I've had that happen to me when I tried going through the stage as fast as possible. Just before I went to skip the bridge, Bowser jumped to the left, which granted me enough time to hit the switch before he was able to get back to the other end. When I hit the switch, I first thought I had a good time, since that was the only time I managed to outrun Bowser to the end of the bridge. But then I noticed he wasn't appearing. It took me a minute or so before I realised I stumbled upon a softlock and had to reset the game

Even without cheats, you can use the tanooki leaf in normal gameplay to go the normal path (which will trigger the cutscene) the glide over the lava to reach the bridge from the stone path, hit the button, and softlock the game. It's a well know glitch but your discovery of doing it this way is still fascinating. I'd love to see you do more on this game since it's one of my favorites.

I remember actually softlocking the game by complete accident on this level, I have no idea how to replicate it but I remember speeding past the entire Bowser section as Tanooki Mario and hitting the switch before he could jump to it and play the death cutscene properly, so the game just got stuck waiting for Bowser and there was no way to fix it except for resetting

It could be that Bowser spawns after mario passes a Y axis position which is why it always triggers.

Another way you can do it is triggering the fight and then fly over Bowser with a tanooki suit and hitting the button.If you do this correctly, you will kill Bowser but won’t be able to move past the button into the tower.Mario will still be stuck in the cutscene even though it won’t be playing

Ive already said this but, you recently covered the mysterious shadow in the ghost house levels of 3D Land. Have you heard of the UFO in World 1's moutian level? To see it instead of looking at the toad through the binoculars for the star coin, look up at the sky for a while to see it fly past.

you can do something similar without the moon jump, by hitting the switch before bowser has the chance to jump over by the switch, which can be done by gliding over to it, mario will stand there after the bridge collapses, unable to move

You can do something similar if you lure him away from the switch and then run and hit the switch while he is off screen. But instead of crashing it just soft locks after the cut scene.

UnluckyTZP nope just a five minute video plugging something he is doing in the future. Two minutes spent not talking about what the title says his is then two minutes just to tell use the game crashes when you do things not in the right order (I mean who would have guess that would happen.) and then the final minute is the plug. He should have just posted his future plans on Twitter or a community post on KZbin. A lot of older KZbin channels are running out of good content so they have to do stuff like this is keep their name relevant and their channel in the KZbin algorithm. WhatCulture, Mojo, Screenrant, etc. will be like ooooo so-and-so made a video about this years ago now I can copy it. Certain channels are dropping in Quality in return for Quality. Meaning they just put videos out just to put videos out not matter how bad they suck. Lol.

You can let it crash too if you spawn Bowser, lead him to the end of the bridge, so he is not on screen if you press the switch. The bridge will go down, Bowser will not be seen and Mario will wait endlessly.

When I was on the edge of beach bowl galaxy I was not falling down the edge and somehow walked on I first thought it was a water fall so I can go down with it but wasn’t and some of the waterfall wasn’t real there. It was the place where the coconut tree was nearest to the edge.
