Final Shape getting delayed may have actually saved Bungie because there ain't no way D2 would survive against the explosion that is Helldivers 2's popularity.

@@Lobo35508 Yeah, but Helldivers 2 is also experiencing some load issues on their servers, plus the dev team getting saddled with an awful anti-cheat program from their contract with Sony. It will take some time to fix that, which means Helldivers 2 might end up getting it's second wind around the time Final Shape drops. So it could still end up hurting Bungie a lot. Even worse, there are several new extraction shooters on the horizon, and ALL of them look better than Marathon. Seeing how it's practically confirmed that FS won't have the third darkness subclass in it, Destiny 2's last DLC looks to be facing a steep uphill battle to make anyone left care about it. I suppose we'll see how the cards all fall out. Either way, things aren't looking great for Bungie going forwards.

Sadly they kind of retconned it as the cosmodrome in D2 is squeaky clean with no damage to the wall. If anything I'd treat D2 cosmodrome as non Canon if it werent for the seasonal stuff that takes place there

Even to this day, the Destiny guardians won't let Rise of Iron die. Why? Because we know that during that time period, so much good was done. Wrath, the introduction of Daybreak Nightfalls, which gave guardians a chance to unwind and have fun with NFs, the craziness of SIVA everywhere and so much more. Bungie, learn from your past lest you are doomed to repeat it.

It wasn't meant to be anything big or important. It was just a little DLC to tide over the community while the main team worked on D2, with a villain/plot device that could be a threat once, then defeated and never seen again. Unfortunately for Bungie, people liked SIVA way too much, and now they won't let it go lol.
