Missed opportunity to make old clone Bruce Wayne look like Batman Beyond's version of Wayne
@saitouhajime37 күн бұрын
Honestly, I don't think they're nearly the same. Batman Beyond's Bruce is weighted down. Failed relationships, partners pushed away, and no family left to him. Sure, he could fight off some punks, but his dog was there with him. Clone Bruce just didn't have the same narrative weight. And I, personality, applaud that. Weighted down with responsibility and failures is a great narrative tool. Them saving it for a appropriate time is just right to me. References are nice, but they need to be in the right place and the right time. Besides, doesn't that clone look eerily similar to Bruce when he uses the Lazarus Pit in Batman Beyond? Just a bit more spikes to the sides.
@manuelalbertoromero95287 күн бұрын

@Despoina_Nyx7 күн бұрын
To the people being confused, the clone's hand probably doesn't age any faster. Actual limb transplants have been done in the past and what happens is that they take the characteristics of the new host's body, changing size, bone density and skin color after a while. Because new cells have to be created for the repairs for these limbs, meaning that the host body is creating the new repaired cells, basically making the hand into a normal Bruce Wayne hand minus probably the scarring for the reattachment. Now rejections dunno how that works for limbs but this being a clone probably means there is no rejection. And you can shrug saying they reattached a new hand this late due to simply comic science logic. As for why he would want a human hand instead of a bionic one..... well that is one big ass distinctive feature that both would have. If bruce slips once and let it shown that he had a bionic hand rather similar to that of Batman that could be too big a vulnerability for his secret identity. Also the real reason is cuz comic executives are the most scared of the idea of changing the status quo.
@UrBoiCyrus7 күн бұрын
Thank you. I was really confused
@Despoina_Nyx7 күн бұрын
@@UrBoiCyrus No worries, I can easily see how people would think that probably the hand would still have the same cellular degeneration. And honestly I discovered the whole thing about limb transplants recently and was rather shocked it even existed back then.

So if the clone aged faster, wouldn't the hand he just cut off continue to age at an accelerated rate?

Probably the cells die off and stop the aging because it’s been severed from the body
@PerkolatorTheTerminator7 күн бұрын
I figure it would be because of som sort of factor with the central nervous system being accelerated to age it up to fighting form faster so being cut off from the source of the unnaturally fast aging would render it unaffected by the advanced aging.

Dark, so very dark. This is the sort of storyline that by rights _should_ leave a lasting mark in the very concept of the characters and the style of stories. Have enough of them and the genre of storytelling ought to become more like personal horror. Also, I am not sure a canon with Bruce having a right hand that was transplanted from his own clone would make a whole lot of sense. Are we to believe that the hand will be skillfully implanted and then go through the physical stress of punching the likes of Killer Croc or Bane every tuesday? Frankly, that is a whole new source of body horror in and of itself.
