I came up with a concept called ‘parajith kula’ or conquered lineage. In this concept people are conquered and tortured. However people keep resisting, they adapt to their circumstances and find different ways to express resistance. They take pride in their past and keep attempting to fight their conquered status. This can be applied beyond colonial and post colonial times even to Islamic invasions and Hun invasions, to every single era in history. The important aspect is the defence, torture and subjugation and especially the varied forms of ‘resistance’ against their conquered status shown by people throughout the ages
