I did all of the things you did when I first played it too. This is by far the most immersive game I have ever played, there is no game like this one out there. I believe the super laggy cutscenes are because of Vsync, disabling Vsync fixes that.

KC:D caught my attention when it was first announced in early development. Historical period and real to life experience. The lengths they went to to replicate the architecture and locations that actually existed, the fighting styles of the period, etc plus, no elves or magic were all I needed to be on board. Had a rough launch, unfair criticisms imo and not much promotion leading up to its release. Even with that I was still very pleased. The story, dialog main and side quests (learning to read) made up for the few shortcomings that for me were minimal issues. I hope (and see now) with the announcement of KC:D2 that alot of streamers are revisiting or as in your case, discovering this true gem of a gaming experience. Welcome Henry! I hope you enjoy your journey as much as I did. The next installment will be even more impressive.

Don't worry, mate, we've all been there. I struggled a lot in the beginning, too. But after 500 hours in the game, and even starting it now on Hardcore mode, it's still amazing. Truly a masterpiece. Take it slow, explore the game, man, and don't rush. By the way, 'practice makes perfect' is something that's true in this game. Keep practicing sword fighting!

I started my second KC1 playthrough just because the hype :) P.S.; The game can be sometimes extremely frustrating (especially combined with the save system etc ..), but it is totally worth it :) Can't wait to see your reaction on the events that are yet to come ;)

I don’t know how many times I played on normal difficulty, but I know at least once. After beating the game on normal, I decided to take the chance and play on hard mode. I highly recommend playing on hard mode to challenge yourself! I found it wonderfully challenging. The one thing that I find concerning about KCD2 is the romance option. I really like the romance between Henry and Theresa! They risked their lives for both of themselves. They were made for each other!

I backed the game many years ago. I played here and there when it was in alpha stage. Its been sitting in my steam library all these years after full release. I finally started this weekend b3cause i saw a trailer for the 2nd one. Man the game looks amazing on max graphics. Love the dialogue and gameplay.

This was a really fun game. I never wound up finishing because I played on gamepass and it can get pretty difficult in later parts, but overall just a very fun, very immersive game.

Think about the things Martin could've teach Henry is he actually survived. With just a longsword and no armor at all, he cut down enemies left and right like a master. He would definitely made it if that mounted coward didn't charge him from behind.

Your graphics are almost fully maxed out, but you could put the draw distance sliders farther. Vegetation, shadows, objects. I forget if there's any other slider. Any modern pc handles this 6 year old game well. I've only got an RX6750xt and it runs well. Edit: I just noticed you're on the very high preset. Put it on ultra high settings, it does make a little difference.

I'm playing KCD at the moment (well returned after 4 years to "give it a proper go") anyway your vid appeared on my xbox YT app and have to say mate, made me laugh loads (and at 5am, before work, not too shabby). especially you trying to retrieve your pa's tools, good work. This game is a singular masterpiece, made on a shoestring budget. It can be a bit janky, but that doesn't detract from the immersion too much at all. There's nothing else like this game that I've played. I love it so much, and I'm really interested in seeing your reactions to it. One (non spoilery) hint... When you're told to go and train with a guy called Captain Bernard, don't just skip out of there as soon as the mission parameters are met... train more, and more, learn combos, and especially the "master strike". Combat will become much more rewarding, and manageable. You still won't become an unstoppable beast, like Geralt the Witcher, but at least you'll be able to hold your own. Also, learn how to read as soon as possible.

I'm glad alot of creators are picking this up with the sequel. I'm not smart enough to say what exactly makes this game seem so perfect, despite it's flaws. But I have more hours on it than any other game, it's alluring in a way I haven't seen anywhere else.

Game is actually more fun if you are doing hardcore mode, in easy mode you can't appreciate the scenery that KCD has to offer, most people just play easy mode just to "finish" the game, they mostly use fast travel

I never jump right into the hardest mode on my first playthrough because I don’t want to get annoyed and let it ruin my experience, but I can defo see myself doing a hardcore live-streamed series of this game!

The term "Sleeper" is a term used to movies, games etc... Which means, something Great but, overlooked and missed by the masses. Due, to other things and those other things covered up something Great from being known.

It's fun and frustrating as a experienced player watching a new player. I've never seen anybody die in prison that quickly when starting their game. In my first playthrough I managed to not go to jail. But my second playthrough I definitely went to jail. Keep with this game. There are going to be times where you are going to be frustrated with the mechanics but bear with it it is well worth it. Just remember, it's like learning any new game it takes time. I don't know why, but I laughed so hard when you said about Henry using the sword and you said "Don't Whiff it" I cracked up so hard

I've been much later in the game executed by inkvisitor as heretic because i was talking with him about free will and how church should heve lesser role in peoples lives. And on FB fanpage just yesterday someone posted another death image how angry willagers came for him as he slept, which is first time anyone saw that, it was hidde all 6 years. Your actions here really have consequences :)

Rushing through such a game is definitely the wrong approach. Chill, take your time to read, get accainted with the game. This is no brainless adventure to play inbetween. This shit is serious and demanding and you need to use your brain for certain quests 😂
