Packaged food products company, MTR Foods which closed the last fiscal with a turnover of about ₹ 900 crores and growing at a CAGR of 14 percent, expects its revenue to top ₹ 1,000 crores this fiscal. About 10 percent of revenue comes from exports catering to the Indian diaspora. But this was not was always the case, this company has been in business for 97 years! 08:05 is a pure gem. We always idolize the west and look up to them as the only source of example and source of inspiration. We have so many cases in India such as MTR, TATA, Infosys, and Ambani's who actually overcame adversity in India where it's far more challenging to grow when compared to the capitalistic western society. Media and mediums have ways to make the fool look like a hero and the hero look like a fool. Let us all give our own entrepreneurs and business people the recognition they deserve.

This is very relevant case study. Well articulated👍 MTR case study lessons: 1) Turning threats into opportunity 2) Maintaining core thrust of service delivery 3) Loyalty, trust building between employer-employee 4) Retrofitting business model through business re-enginering re-skilling, changing business, keeping other alternatives open. 5) Not compromising with quality at the same time being cost effective and retaining customer trust. 6) Business cycle is dynamic process and it is critical for entrepreneur to keep questioning it's core values through constant introspection and look for broader meaning of their core business. Infact these words of wisdom is equally relevant for an individual too, in search for new epiphany.

It's very great of Sadananda mayya sir....but in 1975, there can be a risk of whether people buy packed foods ..which are authentic and traditional way preparation like idli ...rather than a clever decision...I think it is more of a risk and some calculated decisions..which brought that brand value to MTR👍

MTR foods is no longer Sadanand Maiya's company. It got sold to a Norwegian company in 2007. But yes, adapting the dynamics of market is something to learn
