Israel can desalinate 17 liters of water for 1 US cent. Israel recycles 5 times more water than Spain, which comes second. America, which lags far behind even Spain on this issue, is ready to learn from Israel. In particular, California has begun construction of a $ 1 billion desalination plant. It is being built by the Israeli firm IDE Technologies. Since November 2018, the plant began supplying the San Diego area with 50 million gallons of water daily. Many other projects have also begun that should save America from drought according to Israeli technologies.

producing 1 kg of meat does not consume so much more water. you need to take into account that the water consumed is mostly rain waiter. both drunk and used by the plants eaten (if we are talking about cows for example). the animals pee it and gets back in circle. it doesn't disappear. the remaining part is still more than a kg of corn, but can you really compare the nutritional content of a kg of meat and a kg of corn?

There is more than just water when it comes to what it takes to raise a hundred million cows
@funveeable3 жыл бұрын
The water is also counted in agricultural byproducts like corn husks and stalks that humans cannot eat and those scraps are fed to cows to recycle it. All this about meat consuming too much water is heavily misleading. It's true on paper but in reality it's not a problem. Resource scarcity from production doesn't really happen. If the resource is capable of sustaining anything, humans will find a way to make it sustain more.
@vitoanania60423 жыл бұрын
If you're referring to land area that could be destined to "better uses" , the fact is that you can't plant whatever you want wherever you want. On most land, only grass can grow easily. Cows mostly eat grass (in various forms). It'd be wasted land if it wasn't used for them

Can you please talk about South Africa,and explain ecconomic system of South Africa. I'm a South African and the situation in my country is getting worse everyday,and my fellow South Africans think if we implement more social rules will but I think is the lack of knowledge

From the little I have heard of South Africa and esp. Cape Town, I second the request for information--or at least the Israel/South Africa comparison comes to mind. But perhaps politics inhibits South Africa's water progress in a way it does not in Israel. Or after climate change has received blame, what does South Africa do with its present pressing water needs?

+Puseotsile Cawe I think the problem lies with hiring based on Skin rather than merit in your country. Also racial policy from what I have seen only made your country go down in dumpsters.

Here's an idea: In the state of California, it has the ability to tap into the Pacific Ocean and draw it's water from the ocean, run that water through Desalination Plants and reduce the water California taking from other states!
