Hello there. I'm a Christian geologist, saved by the grace of Jesus Christ and I find it quite interesting to see the arguments some of my brethren usesupporting a purely creationist and catastrophic paradigm. Personally, I Agree with Marcus when he said the bible does not really teach us this things in detail, since it's purpose is to show us salvation through Jesus. I'm not gonna say I agree with what is explained but, none of us owns truth anyway. There are misteries that belong to God alone as there are some others He shows to those who seek Him wholeheartedly. What really should matter to us is our faith in Jesus.
@chris93703 Жыл бұрын
I agree. But it should also matter when scientists say the flood of Noah never happened even though Jesus referred to it as something that really happened. At that point you have to go along with what Jesus said and disagree with the scientists.

Thank you for making this rational and sensible comment. I'm a geologist and geophysicist with over 25 years experience with mineral and mining exploration. Over the years I've worked with many geoscientists who also happen to be religious, some Christian some Muslim, and I've never had any disagreements with any of these guys about the age and geological history of our planet. I have actually worked on projects in the field where the sedimentary sequences are teeming with Devonian Ammoniod fossils, some of the other geophysicists and geologists on this project were Christian and Muslim, there was no doubt among any of us about the ~350million year age of the Devonian limestone sequences these fossils were in. I'm not religious but I believe that there is a spiritual dimension to us, life, and the whole universe, for all I know parts of the Christian belief system and Bible may reflect or describe some aspects of the spirituality that I feel. But regardless spirituality and religious beliefs have to fit with what we obviously see and is indisputable, it's not valid to try twist and bend observable reality to make it align with a spiritual or religious belief system, and there is no actual need to do that, it's all about how you interpret what is written in religious texts, which as a Christian Geologist you obviously already know 🙏

MY reference to him is to demonstrate from a leading chemist, that its IMPOSSIBLE for amino acids to form in the wild - I have known that since the Miller experiments (YES I am that old and then I was an evolutionist) - proved intelligent interference was necessary for the the most elemental Aminos. And that is ignoring racism which occurs in the wild in equal numbers - cancelling out each other.. "can do no better than to speculate people are fiddling with results where genetics are concerned (no evidence for it whatsoever); HUH? "he knows recent findings in that domain are hard to explain in the absence of evolution, " That is a deliberate and blatant lie. CITE him on this - you are seriously mistaken. That is the WHOLE point of his presentation - that NO SCIENCE exists; NO conditions are possible; that COULD allow life and the necessary chemicals to form - and even IF they did, that would NOT get you anything useful for EVOLUTION.. ONLY DNA can produce the essential elements for DNA, and all those essential elements are REQUIRED for DNA. Its an IMPOSSIBILITY for DNA to be formed in any evolutionary scenario - Watson said that - NOTHING has changed. "and Tour himself doesn't touch dinosaurs on a boat or a 6000 year old earth on the personal statement of his website." SO what does that prove? - you said he didn't deal with it and now mock me for HIS honesty about NOT being a scholar of the flood? YOU seem to border frequently on the irrational. " "As for many of the details and the time-spans, I personally become less clear. Some may ask, What’s “less clear” about the text that reads, “For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth”? " That SHOULD be an AHA, Penny Drop moment . . . And considering that GOD put that into the LEVITICAL law that was DETAIL specific - even how to POOP was covered - GOD was NOT guessing. "That is a fair question, and I wish I had an answer that would satisfy them. " WHY not accept the WORDS of the CREATOR - who by the way, was there - as a FACT. WHY do you think GOD would lie about something upon which the entire gospel is based? "But I do not because I remain less clear. So, in addition to my chemically based scientific resistance to a macroevolutionary proposal, I am also theologically reticent to embrace it (a 6000yr old) Earth just thrown together by magic in 6 days) - James Tour" ... It does NOT support any of YOUR claims. GOD gave specific time frames several times - JESUS confirmed everything Genesis says as TRUE. He detailed the ORDER in which it all was created in Genesis - and there are many SCIENTIFIC reasons why that TIMELINE is a better story then the long ages the devil promotes - you CANNOT be a Biblical CHRISTIAN and NOT accept the 6 days creation - the ENTIRE Word of GOD is based on it. Look - simple math - at 1.5 BILLION years the moon and the earth would be in CONTACT. THINK about it - we KNOW the prescession rate - BUT to be an old earth fool you need an earth 4.5 BILLION years - and that is NOT long enough for even the BEST estimates to bring us to the complexity of life we have today by EVOLUTION.. Where are the several miles of fossil bones that would be a result of even a couple more thousand years? OUR population is almost to the penny what one would expect restarting with 8 people - 6 of them childbearing age - after the flood - add another 1000 years and there are people a mile thick on earth. "Everyone is free to believe whatever they want - sure, but you have to ask yourself, if Ham's 'science' is really that great, why won't Tour vouch for it? " Because he's a CHEMIST? "And if Tour isn't sure of a 6000 yr old Earth (given how smart he clearly is and how dedicated he is to God), why are you???" Because I am a BIBLE SCHOLAR and 6000 years - at least less than 15000 - that is MY genealogical quirk - DEMANDS it. " All the best. x " WHY do you have a problem with what the BIBLE plainly says? WHY do you have an issue with the FLOOD - that is OBVIOUS to any amateur or professional geologist - I used to go on digs with a national museum - and EVIDENCE for the flood is EVERYWHERE. single deposits of sandstone that span CONTINENTS - ocean bottom fossils in marine limestone atop Mt EVEREST - all that is ONLY possible with a GLOBAL flood. BY the way - Ham is only ONE scientist among many TENS of THOUSANDS who believe the BIBLE. There is NOT a single reason NOT to do so. WHEN I was in CHINA - one of my university students said that in CHINA you are free to mock evolution - BUT not the govt - in AMERICA you are free to mock the GOVT but NOT evolution. Evolution is demonic. Like in the GARDEN, its 'has GOD really said for the twentieth century? IT casts doubt on SCRIPTURE and makes GOD a liar. ANY ONE who has put all the pieces together with the BIBLE comes to the same conclusion that JESUS did - the BIBLE is 100% accurate. WHY would you ever question GOD? Is he NOT capable of telling the TRUTH? WHY is there evidence for the FLOOD in over 250 indigenous tribes - with remarkable similar stories? BECAUSE it happened and is part of cultural legends around the globe. WHY not trust GOD? YOU do for salvation - why not for history? IF you doubt GOD on HIS account of HISTORY - how can you trust him for eternity?

Add to that the fact that the grains or clasts that make up sedimentary rocks can also be easily identified as the preexisting rock type they originated from, they may be from volcanic, metamorphic, or even sedimentary rocks, in many sedimentary rocks there are layers that contain large clasts of a preexisting generation of sedimentary rock, so somehow during this flood sedimentary sequences were layed down in a depositional environment and were cemented into a sedimentary rock which was then eroded and broken down into rocks and grains, which were then deposited again, and then cemented into another sedimentary rock. And if a sedimentary rock is made up of clasts of a preexisting generation of sedimentary rock then the grains and clasts within those clasts can also be identified and they are often from yet another earlier generation of preexisting sedimentary rock. And to even further complicate things these clasts are often a metamorphic rock with sedimentary origins - a sediment, which is the eroded remains of a preexisting rock of whatever type, that has been deposited as layers then cemented into a sedimentary rock, then buried deep enough for heat and pressure to transform it into a metamorphic rock, then uplifted and eroded and deposited as sediments again, then cemented into another sedimentary rock.

One interesting observation about the geological column if interpreted by evolution is that the upper levels seem to suggest that marine species do not exist any longer. Now, I might believe evolution from the bottom levels that there are no terrestrial species in the early periods, but it does not follow through very logically when reaching the later periods and there no marine species present, unless the geological column has been edited and streamlined to make the story of evolution more plausible. If the column is interrupted by the Noah's flood scenario, at least all ecosystems are represented at one time and the layers are at levels that enshrines where they actually existed, marine species at the bottom, ascending to the upper layers where the larger terrestrial species exited. Besides, it is well understood by everyone that the fossils need very specific conditions to be formed. Rapid burial and sealed from oxygen and degenerative creatures like worms digging to find food. One major idea that makes sense quickly to me, is the lack of turbidity, the lack of worms, and bugs digging in each layer, and, the lack of erosion of the surface top sides of each layer. Each layer forms a perfect line, replicated over and over again for the 1,500 feet or so of these layers.

For everything to happen in such a short time frame in history is too much for modern man to comprehend. A couple questions: I thought that through carbon dating we were able to consistently find the age of organisms and by doing so, we were able to date these fossils to hundreds of millions of years. Secondly, if there was a huge flood that wiped out the terrestrial life forms, like the Trex, shouldn't we find evidence of human remains in the same fossil layer? Third, Noah is supposed to save two of every terrestrial species. If that were the case, wouldn't he have saved two of every dinosaur?

Hi, Jake. Every radiometric dating method has a maximum time limit you can date with it, hence, with carbon dating, you can't date fossils older than 55.000 - 60.000 years old, because you wouldn't have any C14 atoms left to measure the organism's age. Some Christian scholars date Noah's Flood to circa 2340 BC based on the Bible's internal chronology (from Adam to Jesus). Some have even noted that several motifs appear to be shared between Noah's Flood and the Mesopotamian Flood account in the Epic of Gilgamesh, and have concluded both accounts are recallling the same event from different perspectives. The problem? The Mesopotamian flood is situated at the city of Shuruppak on the Euphrates River, where the Mesopotamian Noah is warned to build a boat to replenish the earth after the flood with life. Shuruppak was excavated in 1931 and found to have been in existence from circa 3000-2000 BC. It has one flood layer dated circa 2900 BC. THis flood layer was 2 feet in depth, of river silt from a flooding Euphrates River. There was no other flood silt layer. This flood silt was local and did not extend to other sites. Jericho was excavted to bedrock and found to have come into existence circa 10000 BC. It had no flood silt layer in any of its ruins to circa 586 BC and it is below sea-level. Noah's flood of circa 2340 BC cannot be found at any ancient site that was in existence before 2340 BC. Ergo, Science deems Noah's Flood to be fiction and a recast of the 2900 BC Shuruppak Flood. Does anyone do paleontological digs in the oceans? I would imagine as waters receded animals could have been swept out to sea and buried as sediments settled in the water
@WhirledPublishing3 жыл бұрын
Since the "fountains" of the deep" were opened, as the flood waters receded, the creatures that drowned were pulled down into "the deep" - this is why we are not told that Noah and his sons walked upon thousands of dead creatures on the ground after they left the ark.
@zotthefirstjs3 жыл бұрын
@@WhirledPublishing that is why one might expect to find more in the depths of ocean sediment than on land. The question is are there any groups doing that?

@@zotthefirstjs At the time of Noah's flood, our oceans did not exist - our continents also did not exist - our Earth's expansion came AFTER the great flood of Genesis - this includes the formation of our mountains which also came AFTER Noah's flood - Mount Ararat was a "mount" at the time of Noah's flood - it was about as high as the ark was long - now the "mount" is over 5,000 meters in elevation ... Mount Ararat is over 16,000 ft high now ... Since you've been lied to all your life, you don't understand all this - you don't know where the "Earth" came from, you don't know where our ocean waters came from .... so you come up with ideas as if you're a child. Archeological digs are expensive as is, let alone trying to did in the depths of an ocean or sea. But part of what made fossils form where they did was the tsunami effects as waters would rise a bit, then recede, allowing that layer of sediment to be exposed to sun before another layer of sediment would be put over the top. Anything dragged out to the ocean would likely be largely decomposed or consumed by ocean life before it could be buried

What does this mean? It means mans time is not the same as Gods time for the creative days. In fact to the Angels alone 1 day to them is equal to 1,000 years to mankind. However to God these creative days most likely are thousands and thousands of mankind's years in length. Revelations speaks about after Armageddon there are 1,000 years of peace but still no mention of the end of the SEVENTH DAY AND ITS ALREADY BEEN OVER 6,100 YEARS. END 2 THE THIRD CREATIVE DAY,,,, 9 Then God said: “Let the waters under the heavens be collected together into one place, and let the dry land appear.”+ And it was so. 10 God called the dry land Earth,+ but the collecting of the waters, he called Seas.+ And God saw that it was good.+ 11 Then God said: “Let the earth cause grass to sprout, seed-bearing plants and fruit trees according to their kinds, yielding fruit along with seed on the earth.” And it was so. 12 And the earth began to produce grass, seed-bearing plants+ and trees yielding fruit along with seed, according to their kinds. Then God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, a third day. And God saw that it was good. 26 Then God said: “Let us+ make man in our image,+ according to our likeness,+ and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every creeping animal that is moving on the earth.”+ 27 And God went on to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.+ 28 Further, God blessed them, and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many, fill the earth+ and subdue it,+ and have in subjection+ the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving on the earth.” 29 Then God said: “Here I have given to you every seed-bearing plant that is on the entire earth and every tree with seed-bearing fruit. Let them serve as food for you.+ 30 And to every wild animal of the earth and to every flying creature of the heavens and to everything moving on the earth in which there is life,* I have given all green vegetation for food.”+ And it was so. 31 After that God saw everything he had made, and look! it was very good.+ And there was evening and there was morning, a sixth day. Where did all that water come from , and more importantly, where did it all go? Only the very highest mountains were exposed., that's a lot of water. How does one explain unconformities? They surely must have taken a long time to form. Why do marine sediments alternate with terrestial sediments, even dessert sediments? Shouldn't they all be marine until things dried out? Doesn't rain originate from evaporation from the ocean and evapotranspiration from terrestrial areas? You sure do accept a lot of conventional geology, only with an absolutely amazing Biblical twist. Are we willing to entertain the notion that current fresh-water fauna evolved form sea-water creatures immediately after the flood? 2. Unless I'm misinformed, fossils of marsupials can be found only in areas where marsupials live today (South America, Australia and south eastern Asia. If marsupial fossils are pre-flood, how can we explain their descendants managed to move to an unrecognized, newly formed habitat that simply happened to be located just where their ancestors used to live in the pre-Noachian world? 3. The book of Genesis goes out of its way do describe the whereabouts of Eden. Claiming that post-flood people named post-flood rivers because they reminded them of other rivers that had existed in unknowable locations in the pre-flood world makes no sense. If that was the case, why would Genesis say that one of those rivers surrounded a certain territory where there is gold? The rivers mentioned seem to be the Tigris, the Euphrates, the Halys and the Aras or Araxes. If the garden of Eden had nothing whatsoever to do with these rivers, why bother mentioning them? I don't think the above problems are usually addressed by creationist authors, but they should. Anyone care to comment?

We’re glad you’ve been enjoying our content! Many of the concerns you’ve brought up here _are_ addressed in the existing creationist literature. Unfortunately, they can be rather hard to find if you don’t already know where to look. First, I wanted to address your comment regarding “strict diluvial geology.” Terms like “diluvial geology” and “Flood geology” can be a little confusing because, in their strictest sense, they do not allow for the deposition of fossil-bearing sedimentary rocks beyond what happened during the Flood year. Some creationists do hold this position. However, the consensus among young-earth geologists is that the geologic record contains not only fossils and sediments produced by the Flood, but also those produced by processes acting after (and possibly before) the Flood. “I fail to see how fresh-water fish could have survived in reasonably salty water in one universal ocean. Are we willing to entertain the notion that current fresh-water fauna evolved form sea-water creatures immediately after the flood?” This question was addressed by Dr. Todd Wood (one of the scientists we interviewed in 𝘐𝘴 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘴 𝘏𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺?) and Paul Garner in a recent episode of their podcast, 𝘓𝘦𝘵'𝘴 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. Click the following link to see the appropriate clip of that episode: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4nMnXSDfdKGgqs “Unless I'm misinformed, fossils of marsupials can be found only in areas where marsupials live today (South America, Australia and south eastern Asia. If marsupial fossils are pre-flood, how can we explain their descendants managed to move to an unrecognized, newly formed habitat that simply happened to be located just where their ancestors used to live in the pre-Noachian world?” Actually, this is one of the reasons most young-earth paleontologists think that the marsupial fossils are from _after_ the Flood. You can read more about this in the article listed here: www.zoocreation.com/the-flood-boundary-issue “The book of Genesis goes out of its way do describe the whereabouts of Eden. Claiming that post-flood people named post-flood rivers because they reminded them of other rivers that had existed in unknowable locations in the pre-flood world makes no sense. The rivers mentioned seem to be the Tigris, the Euphrates, the Halys and the Aras or Araxes. If the garden of Eden had nothing whatsoever to do with these rivers, why bother mentioning them?” We cannot say with certainty why the names of several rivers and locations in the post-Flood world were recycled from pre-Flood place names, as the Bible does not give us this information. However, the practice of recycling place names is still common in recent times for a variety of reasons. A few examples include Bethlehem, North Carolina, Paris, Texas, and Mexico, Maine. Additionally, there are a number of good reasons to think that the modern-day place names you mentioned that are associated with the biblical Eden were subject to toponym-transfer. One of which is that they are irreconcilable with the geography of the Near East. Genesis records that a river flowed out of the Garden of Eden. However, there exists no single river from which the modern-day Tigris and Euphrates branch off. And while candidates exist for the identification of the Pishon and Gihon rivers as described in Genesis, their alleged modern-day counterparts have never been clearly located.

@@IsGenesisHistory Thanks for responding. As far as I know, the issue of the Edenic rivers and information regarding the abundance of gold in the pre-Flood land of Havilah is not satisfactorily addressed in creationist literature. If Genesis really implicitly poses a gargantuan rearrangement of the lithosphere across the globe, I completely fail to see how the geographical description of pre-Flood rivers, lands and specific mineral resources would be informative in any sense of the word. Such description would be pointless. Genesis would have been more coherent in that regard if it said something like "There were several rivers in and around Eden, and they traversed various lands with a lot of mineral resources". Anything further would be futile, as the readers could extract no information whatsoever from an irrelevant and yet reasonably detailed description. As for the problem of fresh-water biota in a world supposedly covered by a salty universal ocean for an extended period, admitting to the difficulty does not ameliorate the situation. Quite certainly, ad hoc explanations like saying the current fresh-water animals and plants simply "evolved" towards an intolerance to salinity that did not exist to such a degree in the pristine Earth sounds too much like evolutionist just-so stories. In my view, that's unacceptable. As for marsupial fossils being post-flood, I also find that notion quite suspect. If that were to be the case, how come the flood did not manage to leave us any remnants of drowned kangaroos or opossums, but later, lesser catastrophes achieved that very thing? Something similar could be said about "cavemen". As far as I know, all original entrances to Paleolithic caves were destroyed by water. If that is true, the widespread nature of this circumstance would strongly favour the idea of Palelolithic being pre-flood. However, if that is the case, how can the caves themselves contain fossils in their walls? I suppose it is precisely this type of thought that led the fathers of geology to posit the idea of successive creations and life-ending catastrophes, the last creation being the one described in Genesis and the last universal catastrophe being the one in Noah's days, but, alas, if that is the case, the majority of geological strata would predate Adam!

When you get into the Old Hebrew of those verses, it gets more incredible to understand. The very first few words of Genesis 1 are truly awesome: In the beginning, God created.... (God=Hebrew word "elohim" is plural) (created = made from nothing-spoke into existance) Darkness- light and electrons did not exist yet Deep- the expanse of a yet created Universe Hovering over the waters- random matter spoke into existence from which all things would be organized into, down to the molecular level. God spoke it into ordered things, Evening and the Morning were the first DAY (Hebrew word= yom...ALWAYS a DAY...one cycle of the sun as the earth spins)

God said the purpose of the flood was to wipe man from existence. The reason why people aren't found in Flood Rock is because they were wiped from the Earth. Also the fact that humans would've drowned last, is a compelling argument.

If all these fossilized creatures were contemporaneous with Noah, then why aren't they around now? Ok,disregard the marine creatures,they weren't on the manifest,but clean and unclean animals "that creep on the earth" were. That would include dinosaurs,your mega fauna such as giant sloths,sabre tooth tiger's,giant kangaroos etc. Yet none of these are around today. Explain that.
@masada28283 жыл бұрын
The Dinosaur was taken into the Ark as a young creature or small. Dinosaurs or dragons have been observed on the earth up to the 16th century AD but not of the size of pre Flood. Bearing in mind the atmosphere pre flood was different, creatures grew big and lived longer. The earth was forever changed as to be unrecognisable after the flood. Marco Polo observed dragons on his journey to China. The Emperor had a dragon keeper. Stories and poems were written about real dragons. Real events became legend. The truth has been turned into a lie and now they teach a lie, as in evolution.

@@masada2828 Well said, and the bible described a dinosaur vividly, and people in ancient China described the Pterosaurs, and main stream science just turned all this into a lie. And they complain about the bible being changed slightly 🤦♂️

There's also the report of a dragon slain in the old West in America's OWN history as late as the 19th century (the 1800s!) The description (I believe a 60 ft wingspan?) sounds an awful lot like a Pterosaur to me. Or dragon, if you will.

Do the human fossils show up before the Flood?
@jndvs953 жыл бұрын
No. God destroyed essentially all evidence of humans during the flood. It wasn't just rain coming down from the sky but massive volcanoes and tsunamis like the world has never seen since. Not to mention the earthquakes and such that went along with that

@@rileycpo No, the notion of liberal means that all should be treated equally under the law and in policy despite belief or political persuasion. However, your definition is amusing since it means that any conservative that accepts evolution (and that is the majority) is somehow not a conservative. Any liberal who is a creationist then is also somehow wrong. You aren't particularly good at this are you| You don't know your definitions and you don't understand that what you actually mean is "anyone who understands and accepts science".
