@drunkenhobo503927 күн бұрын
Yeah that's how regenerative braking works - the electric motor acts as a generator that charges the battery. Formula E cars are even more interesting with it - they have an electric motor on the front wheels but they don't use them for acceleration, only braking. And they have rear motors that do both, whilst the rear friction brakes are only for emergency. Under normal conditions, all rear axle braking is done by the rear electric motor.

Its been six years now since Ricciardo's iconic redemption win at Monaco 2018. Cant belive that he is still able to bring his car home to a win even without MGU-K. 😲
@sandalphoncpu27 күн бұрын
I like how people are trying to downplay Ricciardo’s win by saying they can win in a Golf on pole in Monaco like you’re on a video game. Losing MGU-K is a very dangerous failure. It could’ve easily made other components like the MGU-H and eventually the turbo pump fail, which can lead to a massive engine failure. Not only that, the power delivery could be compromised which can lead to spins or uneven wear to brakes and tires. Anyone who’s been watching F1 for years knows the consequences of that. There’s a good reason why many people who works in F1, including Vettel and Newey, deemed his win at Monaco as a miraculous win.
@Marco-xz7rf27 күн бұрын
crazy right? How did the MGU-K break without jaming or having other effects to the car. It still has its mass turning and there are magnets inside. They potentially could have induced power and taken away even more of his speed but nothing for 50 laps. Also that he had enough fuel and the brakes kept up and so on. Great work from the car, great work from him to adjust so quickly. I really miss him. HAd high hope after he got p4 in Miami Sprint. But now, i will be sad if he is dropped, but I can understand if it happens :(
