Wonderful testimony, I’m currently learning about the Orthodox Church, after leaving Protestantism and have been on this journey now since the beginning of the year. I’ve Purchased my own orthodox study Bible, and refer to all my daily readings back to the Orthodox Church through the study Bible and Catena Mobile app. Thank for you Posting this wonderful testimony,

Your videos were in my recommended, so I began watching a few and then ran across your videos about St. George. My wife is from St. George but moved here to Oklahoma for college, where we met. We have been together for 28 years now, and married for 25. Last Pascha, or the Saturday before Holy Week began to be precise, we were made Catechumens in our closest Orthodox Church---Holy Ascension Orthodox Church in Norman Oklahoma. We live in Shawnee, so it is about a 45 minute drive for us one way for Divine Liturgy or any other services, but so worth it and we love the drive. Long story short(er), she recently flew home to visit her mom and family (in Leeds) and wanted to find an Orthodox Church to attend while there, so we searched and found St. George Orthodox Church. Your new priest there, Father Mychal and Khouria Sarah, as it turns out, attended St. Vladimir's with our parish priest, Fr. Kosmas and his wife, Khouria Catherine and are close friends. So, while there visiting her family, my wife was able to attend a Vespers service, make their acquaintance and acquire 2 icons of St. George made by a parishioner, one of which was gifted to Fr. Kosmas and Khouria Catherine. Anyway, small world, I suppose. Glory to God! P.S. You have a new subscriber and prayers from Oklahoma for St. George Orthodox Church! ☦☦🙏🙏

I'm glad to hear how God is working in your life. As a man who was obviously seeking and has found traditions that have been since the original apostles, I believe there is something to it. I pray all you brothers and sisters keep going as long as the Lord wills. I understand we need established faith now more than I can even remember throughout my lifetime.

I have always been fascinated by orthodoxy. I was born into Jehovahs Witness. My dad was atheist. I went to Baptist schools. Later was raised Pentecostal. I was baptised Methodist. My dad later became a born again Catholic. And yes to add to the list, I have Mormon family members 🤣🤣. At any rate, have long been fascinated with orthodoxy but was always hesistant because Im not Greek/Slavic/Russian, etc. Ive found your journey interesting.

What a beautiful story, Dave. I'm a lifelong Calvinist whose recently developed an interest in Orthodoxy. I'm in the Houston, Texas area and want to take my family to visit an Orthodox Church, but I'm not sure which one to visit. There seems to be a difference in some, but I'm not sure about how to move forward in deciding which one to visit and ask questions. Dave, if you have any contacts here in Houston or know of an Orthodox Church please let me know. Thank you brother.

Hey Dave! You mentioned construction for the new church was scheduled to begin anytime from September 2023 to September 2024. Was wondering if you've pinned down a more "set in stone" date, or if you have any other updates. Thanks!

They didn't teach us in Seminary about the Apostolic Church part of the Catholic umbrella. Only the Roman papacy and compared that to Mormonism. .Big difference

The Roman church (that became the Roman Catholic church) was actually one of our churches for 1,000 years in the Orthodox Catholic Church before it was excommunicated in AD 1054 by the Patriarch of Constantinople. The Papacy began in the 2nd millennium as the title Pope was not used for the Bishop of Rome alone until then, and the Bishop of Rome's abuse of power came to its height then, starting a couple centuries earlier. That's another reason why it was cast off of the Church.

Here is a idea build a metal building first that you can use as a bigger church at first that will help with growth, later when your ready to build a real Orthodox Church, convert the metal building into a youth / kitchen and Church dinner area. God bless

Our Parish temple is a former house. Many Orthodox churches were once residences. When we build the permanent temple, the house will be the Parish hall.

Dave prays to a sort of cloud without body, parts, or passions he says inspired him to start persecuting members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
@LadyMaria
@LadyMaria 2 жыл бұрын
We believe in Christ God. He is the incarnate Word (Logos) of God. After all, if He didn't have a Body, we wouldn't have the Holy Eucharist which is His pure Body and precious Blood. God is three Persons of one Essence. Saying that the Father is a cloud or whatever is heresy in our Faith as we do not know what He looks like, thus why we do not depict Him in iconography. What Dave does isn't persecution at all. Orthodox Christians are killed everyday for their Faith and have been killed en masse (millions last century) many times throughout 2,000 years. That's real persecution.

Yes, He is the only High Priest. Our clergy are Priests (Presbyteroi in Greek) and Bishops (Episkopoi), as in representatives of Christ as the Apostles were.
