The release of Xianyun was like getting the final piece of Exodia. His premium team with Furina Xianyun and C6 Faruzan is so good it made me pick up Xiao after 2 years without touching him. There is no energy issues, no circle impact, no downtime, it's the perfect team.

@@totallyregulargiorno The healer keeps everyone alive while buffing the dps' plunge dmg, the subdps giga-buffs the dps via a mechanic that the dps already takes advantage of (also enables swirl dmg, which is little but still adds a bit), the grouper not only shreds and buffs anemo dmg, but also counteracts the dps' knockback and thus ensures maximum aoe dmg, and then the dps has amazing aoe and mobility thanks to plunging. Everything working in perfect synergy Yeah, it will be almost impossible to ever replace one of xiao's supports, they are just that essential to each other.

Aka, a niche unit that cant use flexibility to creep into multiple team comps, instead relying on thar allies to be extremely flexible or just ridiculously good at buffing his very specific DPS playstyle. This is probably why i always prefer units that can not only have a wide variety of supports that can be used with them, but also supports that can fit in a wide variety of teams. AKA why stuff like a certain 4 star pyro polearm user gets used so often because its just way too easy to make use of her in so many damn team comps with a very easy re`applier off-field ability in TWO flavors, via a fire breathing red panda and a spinning around Flaming AoE that since it follows you, means its not a pain in the arse to deal with extremely spread out enemies or enemies that just constantly `disengage` in fights by flying back several miles and pelting you with B.S. like Bubbles and freezing effects.

Xiao’s element is irrelevant because he doesn’t use the most relevant part of his element: Swirl. Eula didn’t get the Xiao treatment because her Faruzan (Mika) is trash and she needs another unit like Xianyun that fits her playstyle. I’m convinced this will happen in Snezhnaya, when Cryo & Physical will be relevant.

@@LuisFernandez-jp8wt Imagine how hilarious it would be if the Tsaritsa as the Cyro Archon, is a main DPS who works around instantly consuming cyro reactions to cause a type of `3 step cyro reaction` to instantly do massive amounts of damage at the cost of removing any debuff type effects. Since the only way to probably `fix` the issues of freezing centric reactions would be to make a means that flips off the lack of DPS by suddenly making it alot of DPS isntead. Anyway guess i`ll stick to WuWa still if i wanna fret about DPS gimmicks, but i still find it funny they left numerous elements in the dirt by instead releasing characters that flip off the care about the element that much and instead just raw-hot-dog ram fowls huge amounts of damage instead to ignore caring about `reaction spam damage.`

10:05 Faruzan's C6 as mentioned activates her skill even when she's off field, meaning she also batteries the on field DPS. A lot of people hated how this is designed as her C6 is the most overtuned constellation a 4-star have, some people argue it would've been a bit better if some of the effects were more spread out throughout her cons or something.

After having gotten Xiao, one thing that irked me was that his Charged Attack, a huge arcing swing, doesn’t hit opponents tumbling in the air. It’s a small thing, but it’s so weird seeing Xiao missing enemies that are directly in front of him when the hit trails clearly show otherwise (example: 2:52).

Staff of Homa, 230 Cv MH set, C1 Furina, 3 cons away from C6 Faruzan. This years goals are now clear; Xianyun and the rest of Faruzan’s Cons. Honestly even without Xianyun, I think I might get him anyways this year, since this Investment with Bennett should be enough to clear any content

His best team is expensive, it includes 3 five stars Xiao, Xianyun, Furina,c6 Faruzan. c6 Faruzan is not even on paimon shop, so it's even harder than actual 5 star. This team is really strong, but Alhaitham, Arlecchino and Neuvilette have even stronger teams that require way less investment. Cyno has a similar case he needs Furina, Nahida and Baizhu for his long burst duration.

I agree that while Neuv and Arle have stronger teams, Alhaitham is in my opinion only sometimes stronger. My Xiao team is Xianyun, C1 Furina, C6 Faruzan and I can hit on average 215k plunges without food buffs during his burst which tends to allow for almost 15 plunges. Now I do have C2 Nahida C4 Kuki and C6 Fischl for Alhaitham but even tho he does high damage he’s also more susceptible to getting stunned in my experience so I’m forced to dodge which takes away from damage. With Xiao I don’t have to worry about that because it’s so rare to get stunned out of my burst. My Xiao is on par with my C2 Arle and C2 Neuv teams when it comes to damage.

If we go with the calcs, yeah that teams are stronger but for a pretty small margin, since Xiao premium can reach out top 5 dps teams in the game according to nahida mains and zajeff Still those teams are better because they are like 3%-7% stronger while at the same time being half as expensive Still, it's incredible that a unit released on 1.3 can keep up with recent carrys (besides national obviously)

Xiao investment is high but his exodia team was released over several versions, so it's just a matter of perspective. A 1.x player wouldn't care and just wants to know his potential with the team, but a 4.x player should know what they're getting into. And for a premium team, Xiao has one of the best. Endless energy, plenty of AoE and single-target, slight grouping, CC, off-field damage, no circle restrictions, and full party healing. A super old character getting a team this powerful and comfy is insane, like it's straight out of a team comp wishlist.

Great Video! I would also like to add some stuff that wasn't really mentioned in the video, or at least could have given more magnitude 1. Xiao in the past used to want Zhongli for his best team, so often he would be competing in usage for ZL with other Hyper Carries (before FFXX of course) 2. Faruzan C6's CC helped Xiao consolidate groups of enemies which was a problem with him, especially when first getting used to the plunge platstyle as you knock around enemies 3. Xianyun's passive actually helped one of Xiao's notable weakness at the time which was that he was comparatively weaker in Single Target than AoE. Xianyun's buff helped mitigate that weakness and you can now make the argument that Xiao can be generaly used in any non-high-anemo res content 4. Faruzan C6, Furina, and Xianyun broke free Xiao from "Circle Impact" that his best supports at the time required him to play around Other than that, the video summarized generally well on the journey Xiao had for team options without getting too much into the nuances Edit: Typos lmao

Most of his best supports are universally good characters, so i don't feel like he needs much investment, to be honest. I'm not using him much, but he's still useful in theatre and recently when there was a centaur boss in the abyss i casually took my lvl 70 Xiao (needed a way to dispose of the shield) and managed to 3* chamber in the first try (with Zhongli, Furina and Xianyun). So, i'd say he's in the situation i like the most for a characters: he's far from a must pull, but if you like him and want to use him, you can hit some nice numbers

Xiao is my first 5* back when I played at 3.4 For new player, it was hell using him since his burst is godly but drain HP. But I manage to go from Liyue to Sumeru carried by him because he's the bestest damage dealer I owned at that time. Things got better after I pulled Zhongli at 4.0 then Xianyun at 4.4 was a gamechanger. I managed to get my first 12-3 with Zhongli, Xiao, Xianyun, and Faruzan team with Xiao plunging attack reached 100k+. I didn't really invest in reaction since his pure damage is already very high. I have never been so proud with my first 5 star

Ah, sweet vindication. Also, as a Xiao main since 1.3 who has been giving him his upgrades/teammates as they come out or almost, I can say he really felt like a different character since Xianyun's release. The JOY that is the freedom to be able to reposition yourself when an enemy is staggered out of range, or run to the next mob without being forced to stop your burst to redo team rotation and funnel particles... It's not just the great damage and buffs that come with the FFXX team, it's also how SMOOTH it feels to play with Xianyun and C6 Faruzan. We all love the other Xianyun plunge teams and the big numbers, but except for Hu Tao and Xiao they're all married to Bennett's circle impact. I have C6 Gaming and whenever I play him I wish I were playing Xiao instead because of that. Besides, all of Xiao's team have great synergy and buff each other: triple anemo solves energy problems for all anemos, Furina gives Faruzan a buff too, if Xianyun uses VV she buffs Furina, if Xianyun uses noblesse she buffs Faruzan, if Faruzan is C6 and uses TOTM she buff's Xianyun's atk which buffs Xiao more. Also, a well invested Furina helps a lot with enemies who have high resistance to anemo, which means you can still use Xiao with things like Coppelia + Coppelius and brute force your way out even if there are faster teams for that. It's really nice to finish a chamber suddenly because Crabaletta one-shots a random mob out of your sight lol. A nitpick is that I've never really seen anyone using Xiangling back in the day. Zy0x made double anemo (Jean) double geo (Zhongli, Albedo) popular as his premium team for a while, but pre-Faruzan his better team was a hypercarry one with Benny, Zhongli, and TTDS Sucrose. Once Faruzan was released, she replaced Sucrose. There was a double carry team with Raiden for a while too, to solve his energy issues, but why would you if you could Raiden National instead? There's always been attempts to use sub-DPS characters in the older days but they felt copium since Xiao's burst was too long. Even Bennett, his best support historically and one who can still be used today as replacement in his teams, had his burst die before Xiao was done.

I pulled for Xiao, and was the first character I won the 50/50 on back in 1.3. I remember Grinding the game for primos just to get him. I mained him ever since. Eventually I got other Anemo Characters and converted to an Anemo main when Wanderer released. He's my most Invested character, with 2300atk, 80 crit rate and 248 crit damage. Unfortunately I started getting bored of Genshin when his Artifact set released, but I don't think I can replace the 2piece-2piece he has😅. Funnily enough I HAVE gotten both Furina and Xianyun, but only c2 Faruzan, whi h make me lose out on his full potential, but even then he is so strong, that one side of the Spiral Abyss is His to Dominate. I can only hope he gets Someone on Faruzans potential as a 5star, so i dont have to luck out for c6 Faruzan, as I play very little now( it's been almost 2 years since i cared about spending my resin, at around 3.2). My man Xiao keeps on coming back, hope to c6 him someday

his premium team is so good for a plethora of reasons: 1/ He doesn’t need to switch out after setting up all other teammates buffs between waves (unlike nahida teams or team that requires swirl debuff) 2/ Faruzan Anemo Buff/Debuff last for so long and apply every second while off field!!! 3/ Faruzan also create about 5 extra Anemo particle every rotation off-field, not metioning her triggering Favonius. 4/ Xianyun making him outstanding in Single target scenario thanks to her A4 I think his team is gonna be on the top for a very long time, the only thing that can take him down is some future enemies that can interrupt him mid air 😂

Something to note for point no. 3; she can only proc fav while she's on-field, as fav passive doesn't work when the user is off-field. I personally prefer Elegy just because I couldn't reliably proc fav passive with how low the crit rate my Faruzan has. And for me, the best benefit from this team is how braindead easy the rotation is while also deals incredibly strong both single target and multi target team DPS.

It wasn't mentioned in the video, I'd recommend reading the guide that's written by the Xiao mains discord server if you're after Xiao info. It's alao on keqing mains if you're familiar with that. It covers basically everything you could ever know about Xiao and it's what I read when I was learning about him.

His team is still my second strongest even after all this time.i got him immediately after getting Albedo and, even tho it took a while to get Albedo's c4, I refuse to take him off that team, no matter how much more beneficial Furina might be. Her as healer with Lyney makes up for it easily, lol

I see where you’re coming from with Xiao. I pulled him in version 3.4 when I had barely started my Genshin journey. I think I was just using primogems for the sake of it at that point. He ended up being my first five star, and honestly, while I like him now I didn’t when I first got him (anti-social edge lord vibes. In reality he’s just a traumatised war veteran), and his play-style isn’t my thing. Point being I got him by accident, and I wouldn’t have gone out of my way to get him if I hadn’t. I prefer using Hat Guy these days. I still feel that he should have been all about those infused normal attacks that could have benefited from VV given the time he came out (they look so cool) rather than plunges. Missed opportunity there.

you can play him as a NA user, technically theres nothing stopping you other than less optimal damage but personally I find it a much more boring playsyle considering essentially every other dps is set up supports > element infusion > normal attack until dead. Xiaos FFXX rotation is incredibly satisfying.

I hope they add a new Geo def support, I love Itto I pulled his weapon despite having a 75/25 against my odds and got it but now I have him benched cause his team is so lack luster and having a party of 3 5* stars and a C6 4* needs to be worth (Like this case)

xiao is my favorite character all time, even he has downfall before faruzan, furina and xianyun. im so happy with his dmg nowadays and i do not regret any. it took me a good build for 3 years of worth building at 100/193 and i refuse to farm vermillion 😂😂

probably a biased video idea; What happened to Diluc? I've been a Diluc enjoyer since 2.3, and I can very firmly say that the trip was absolutely WILD. Going from being a very sub-optimal comfort character pick to actually being able to meaningfully rival other meta Pyro units was insane to watch in real time. Anyway, I just think it would be a neat video :D
