Saying Red dead 2 is derivative is insane, the actual attention to detail, and the fact it came out in 2018 and the only game that even comes close to looking as good is Alan Wake 2 which came out in 2023! People need to go back and play red dead 1 and see actually how different those 2 games are

They feel really differnt movement of Arthur in Two, Shooting, hand to hand,Stealth kills, Dilaogue system, Horse riding, Ragdoll Physics,Side quests, Ecounters things like hunting and level of detail. RDR2 is more like simulator of the wild west and takes from movies like Hateful 8 and unforgiven. Red dead one is more Spaghetti western. Gamers have profoundly limited intelligence. I could understand saying something like this for spiderman2 or GOWR feel like DLC but RDR2 is a true sequel in terms of the Open world.

That dev said they don’t think it would be that big an upgrade like we seen from IV to V which I doubt. I didn’t see V as that big of an improvement in terms of the details, it seems like they had to cut things that were in IV cause of the hardware limitations. So if they can bring those details back and do more they can definitely trump that kind of jump they had there between those games.

gta 3 was the first gta(and probably the only game ever in its time) to have a big story driven 3d open world to explore while doing whatever you want gta VC improved over 3 by adding more vehicles,better missions and finally a talking protagonist gta SA was a massive leap from the two via adding a whole ass state with multiple cities with rpg mechanics, a shit ton of vehicles, activities and better story and characters gta 4 improved graphically way over the previous titles with realistic physics,better and more interactive npc's ,darker setting and has probably the best story and main protagonist in the whole franchise gta 5 well.. the first to introduce 3 playable characters and switching mechanics, better animations, bigger map, more activivties, more vehicles, missions, more customization and overall more detailed than the previous titles and made SHIT ton of money.. every gta game has in some shape or form improved a lot upon than there previous release all the time it's the reason why these games have there own fans who prefer one over the other for having something the other doesn't have.

Gta6 can play exactly like rdr2 but in a sprawling city and it will be just fine. They could of cooked that up in a couple years if they really wanted it too, but it seems like that wont be the case. This game will be epic, simply driving around that city will look and feel like nothing we’ve ever seen. Doingva remedial task like walking around is probably going to feel insane the npc’s the little stores and shops around the city the graphics, the feel. It definitely will be crazy.

Baldur's Gate III was also "more of the same" what Larian was doing in the past 10 years, but a streamlined AAA budget version. So it satisfied hardcore CRPG gamers but also had crossover power for gamers who liked the mainstream RPGs, like Skyrim and Witcher, but maybe haven't touched a CRPG game yet. That was a market niche. People really needed a proper role playing experience that wasn't simplified, a route most big budget RPG devs took in the past 15 years.

In 2018 when gow went against rdr2 for goty I didn't play gow at that time till 2019 and after I played gow 2018 it was good, sure. but it shouldn't have won goty. I don’t think so 🤨 I think you mean rdr2 there lol that was far more common even still is now today) which it took in a complete new and refreshing direction compared to its predecessors, while I actually did enjoy my time with Arthur more and he is now my all time favorite mc alongside clementine from the walking dead, as a pure ass GAME gow was indeed just straight up more fun to play and that’s what despite both of those games being masterpieces made the difference I’m sure for the game of the year awards, they were both incredible in literally all aspects but ultimately the game that was more “gamey” than the other was god of war

I think GTA 6 will mainly be more interactive/dynamic in free roam. You'll have more unscripted random events. Mission structure will be fairly similar I think. The cool scripted parts will just be even more grand than before.

No game comes anywhere closes to its technical advancement. I’ve never seen attention to detail like this game. Even compared to GTA5 it’s still insanely advanced let alone RDR1. RDR1 was great for its time. Yes RDR2 will still play similar bcz first it’s the same engine just upgraded and second it’s still the same setting. You’re gonna be playing as a cowboy in a wildwest setting what else can they change besides crancking up it’s visuals and mechanics and details, and even the story is one of a kind. I’d say GOW Ragnarök did not have much of a change over GOW 2018. But you cannot say the same about RDR2 vs RDR1. That’s just nonesense. It should have won GOTY easily but we all know it’s crappy event anyways. However, I do agree with you on the fact that of the game is a masterpiece but it did meet expectations then it does hurts vs if a game overexceeds expectations and suprises everyone would have a better chance and that is proven by GOW 2018 ( a great game but no way better than RDR2) also 2021 IT takes Two a AA game winning against RE VIII , Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, Deathloop, bcz it was innovative and suprised everyone. I do still believe GTA6 will blow everyone’s mind but yes after RDR2 you’d wonder how far more could they go. But we’ll know it when we see it. Rockstar have always proven themselves. But remember that after RDR2 lots of changes happened in the studio and some big figures left and since then Rockstar’s business practices have been some of the worst in the industry. Not doubting GTA 6 will be amazing but wont exclude the chance that they may sell thw game for like $200🥲 at this point

I have always been impressed when a new GTA game been released. I was impressed when the first GTA 3 game was released. Same when GTA 4 released and when GTA 5 was released. I’m sure I’ll be impressed when GTA 6 releases too

I don’t think GTA is formulaic in the same way ER is. People won’t get tired of GTA as the game is , to quote D. houser ‘satire of American media culture . With the GTA Franchise taking more than a decade to release an new instalment this gives players ample time to cleanse their palates and get ready for GTA VI. The premise that players will get bored with a specific formula might be true but GTA 6 is not a formulaic game by any stretch of the imagination and will thus retain gamers’ attention for a long,long time. As foe Feomsoft, there will also always be room for games demanding significant skill and being punishing if need be.

@@alishalileh I half agree, as much as we like to paint gta as a game that uses satire of current media and pop-culture with a touch of comical social commentary relief. It’s ultimately a game that follows a certain formula at the end of the day. Even if it’s almost over a decade since GTA5-Red Dead 2 was release in-between those games and it’s the first time I started to notice people not enjoying the R* formula.

While I agree with NakeyJakey's criticisms about Rockstar's mission designs RDR2 is still my GOAT because of its writing, immersion, realism, ambience and in depth gameplay systems. No other game has made me want to just walk around its world, hunt, pick herbs and flowers and read the in game texts like a real inhabitant of that world. And it does all that while living up to all my crazy expectations and providing the best narrative of any video game while being a crazy prequel

Gta6 will feel nothing like gta5. Red dead 2 arguably the best game ever based on the minor attention to detail. Standing still while in the bayou at night feels immersive and the townspeople feel alive. Rockstar will take that effort and put it into a simulated Miami. Rdr1 and rdr2 Do not play the same. I cant see how much different they can be seeing as a car is a car, a gun is a gun so if course they will be similar in that aspect. But the details, content, and structure should be more refreshing. Just driving around the city will be a whole different experience than driving around in gta5. Physics, the npc’s the liveliness of the city the feel will be amazing. And gta6 will win game of the year because this gen we haven’t gotten any great games and I dont think we will get anything in the future. The only thing i think that can be something unique and innovative enough is death stranding 2. That avalanche they showed in the trailer was something Ive never seen before in a game. How dynamic can that world be? Thats my sleeper
