Great to watch your progression through CAT C up into CAT B - Keep it up mate
@notpogiАй бұрын
Thanks mate I really appreciate that 👍🏻 I’ll keep training and see where it takes me - hopefully I’ll get a little more competitive in these 👍🏻

I’m pretty similar to you and got DESTROYED in the open to that sprint. Well done! Very impressed you hung on as long as you did. B1 is bonkers Bravo.
@notpogiАй бұрын
Thanks Andy 👍🏻 I knew it’d be tough but it was so much harder than I expected! B1 is ridiculous, keep going with it mate, the more we race them hopefully the more we’ll get used to it 👍🏻

Incredible performance for someone who has just upgraded from C. The best is yet to come! Good to have you back where you belong

Thanks mate, was brilliant racing together again - just like old times! Hopefully I’ll keep improving, you were excellent as always mate 👍🏻
@SpinToWin74Ай бұрын
Well done. Cat B1 is no joke!...it was full gas in my race as well...🥵🥵🥵...but you are clearly on this level...that training is paying off!
@notpogiАй бұрын
Thanks Sam! 👍🏻 B1 definitely no joke, there’s some absolute beasts in this one! I’ll just keep doing my best mate and hopefully will keep improving! Enjoyed your race - you’re definitely due a win 👍🏻

great result well done catC to cat B1

Thanks Guy, appreciate that mate 👍🏻 It was a bit of a step but happy with that as a benchmark! Hope back ok now - hopefully see you on one of the group rides soon. Got a z2 ride planned Sunday morning if you’re about?

From C1 to B1 😮 we'll done, savage effort to stay with those beasts for so long.
@notpogiАй бұрын
Thanks very much 👍🏻 I needed to use everything I had to stay with that front group though - they are a different class that group 😀👍🏻
@johnl4310Ай бұрын
Good to ride with you. Well done. I was in team Galaxy. Horrendous start for me with a wifi dropout in the penn. Re connected after a minute of racing and had an 18 second gap to close. I ended up doing a 10 minute tt to get back to the group, lol
@notpogiАй бұрын
Nice to ride with you too mate I’ll look out for you this coming week 👍🏻 What an absolute nightmare start, sounds like you did amazing to get back into this one, absolutely superb effort! I hate internet dropouts, what a time to have one though!

Good job man. I'm also doing my first ZRL season. Been cat B for a while just always did the TTT with my team. It was a nuts race for sure and you made it further than I did with the lead pack. I mistakenly sat up after the first climb patting myself on the back that I made it up only to get dropped cause I didn't realize the sprint was there :D. Still finished 25th so not too bad. As to why they haven't switched to the new zrs my suspicion is it's too volatile for a long running series like that. People aren't going to change categories based on power very quickly unless they were sandbagging, but zrs is based on race performance. Win a few races and now your bumped from that league. Just my theory though.
@notpogiАй бұрын
Hi Craig, thanks very much mate 👍🏻 That’s cool, good to get involved in ZRL - I bet the TTT was very tough, it’s sitting in 2nd/3rd wheel that I find really hurts, followed by doing a pull! Good work on making it up the climb, absolute gutter to get dropped there! Sounds like you’ve got a decent power range so you’ll be fine for the scratch race mate! Yeah some good points re the ZRS, in hindsight it’d be best if the scoring had a little more time to sort itself out so not a bad thing 👍🏻
@craigsmith5134Ай бұрын
@@notpogi wtrl ttt is brutal and you got it right. 2nd 3rd wheel is a killer. I've been slowly making my way up b cat. Got promoted from c probably mid January early February and now sitting at 3.8w/kg so kinda in the middle. Only more room to grow 😉
@SteakandChainsАй бұрын
Great job! Looks like a tough race

Thanks mate, it definitely was the hardest points race I’ve done in ages! Slight change in mindset needed once I’ve settled into this category 👍🏻
@RoyImaharaАй бұрын
That course was bonkers. I barely hung onto the front group in my heat. Well done
@notpogiАй бұрын
It was a crazy start Roy and just got harder as the race went on! It’s a typical ZRL race that one! Your race must have been crazy difficult mate! 👍🏻
@RoyImaharaАй бұрын
@@notpogi The winner in my race averaged 4 w/kg. So many attacks. You landed in division one. That makes it even more difficult for you.

Cool video, good to see your motivation towards ZRL is still as lively. Remember racing you guys a fair few seasons ago! If you've got some spare time, have a look at our teams' performance 😉 Maybe see you out on the virtual roads! 🎩

Not sure if you worked realised this afterwards but only top 5 FTS get points but it is now top 20 FAL that get points. They brought this change in a round or two ago. Always worth looking these things up before hand so that you know. Or just ask a team mate.
@notpogiАй бұрын
Thanks Warwick, that’s good to know - for some reason I thought it was top 10 FTS so my bad there! I think I must have watched all the recons as well so silly of me to miss that! Lesson learned mate! Good result for you in this one mate, super strong as always 👍🏻
@warwickzwiftsАй бұрын
@ It used to be top 10 for both so you’re probably not the only one. Scratch race next week so nice and simple for us! 😆 Thanks, I was pleased with how it went. Having a sprint segment so early is not nice but when it goes well it’s reassuring to know that you will do alright in the points even if you get dropped later on.
@jakobjas4212Ай бұрын
Racing Score is a bit too fickle for things like ZRL in my opinion. It's great for regular one-off races but for a series you'll get plenty of people catting up and down each week which makes it difficult to team organisers when riders have to change teams regularly. With A-D category enforcement you'll still get the occasional cat upgrade during the round, but it's much more likely you'll be able to keep the same team through the 6 races each round.
@notpogiАй бұрын
It’ll be interesting to see what they do and how it’s used in ZR. I can imagine a large number or upgrades / downgrades and you’re right when you say it may cause issues for team managers! 👍🏻
@Fade79Ай бұрын
Oh I know how you feel, set up nice with a cat C team in ready for ZRL in September, now racing B1, never even got one race with the Cs before I got upgraded... Damn tiny races :-p I know I'm going faster, but it hurts so much more :-p
@notpogiАй бұрын
Oh mate it’s absolutely brutal! Such a shame you never got to race with the C’s! Well done on the upgrade though, the racing/training must be paying off but you’re right, it’s so painful 😂

@RDRidesАй бұрын
I'd guess they haven't moved to Racing Score because if you won a few ZRL (or other) races, you could end up being promoted to the higher category and out of your team. Using the old A to D categories prevents this.
@notpogiАй бұрын
Yes that definitely could be the reason, I think it’s due to come into play soon which will be interesting to see how that changes things 👍🏻
@braveheart4556Ай бұрын
at 10 seconds into the video, a graph of the track's profile is shown, where do you find that page? It might be good to know when the uphills are coming :-)
@notpogiАй бұрын
The elevation profile is a snap from ZwiftPower however, I would recommend you have a look at the ZwiftInsider website - Eric has everything you need to know about any Zwift course on there - it’s brilliant 👍🏻

How did you improve your 20 minute power from 3w/kg to 3.6?
@notpogiАй бұрын
Hi mate, I’ve been following a set training programme since the end of July, if you have a look at my profile/activities on the companion app you’ll be able to see the type of workouts I’ve been doing. To summarise though we started with a good base (lots of Z2) then worked into HIIT and threshold training whilst maintaining the Z2. 👍🏻
@andrewdechamp8678Ай бұрын
I raced B1 last year and it's a joke, the top 10-15 people there should be A, I'm racing A2 this year and in my race the highest 20m power was 4.6w/kg, I find B1 is filled with A sandbaggers and A2 is where people go when they actually want to get better. It's so strange to me when people just stay in B so they can keep winning, no one cares if you win a B race, it's B.
@notpogiАй бұрын
There were some very strong riders in this race! Interesting what you say about the A2 group and 4.6 wkg. I think there’s enough people that race ZRL to split the categories even further, hopefully when the ZRS is used it’ll promote those people that do sandbag 👍🏻
@andrewdechamp8678Ай бұрын
@@notpogi Yes and there's TONS of overlap when dealing with the limits of the categories. Last year my FTP was around 4.1 and I could get top 10 in any B1 race, right now I'm around 3.9-4.0 and finished 35/56 in A2. I was initially expecting to get dropped hard coming into A for the first time but now I see so there's tons of As that are only 4.0-4.2 that could easily still race in B1 and do great, but choose to join A for the challenge. And then vice versa are the pro B racers who just want to win the runners up category for some reason.
@andrewstarkey4234Ай бұрын
Zrs would just make the cats even wider
@notpogiАй бұрын
Yes agree, it’s just strange they didn’t decide use it. I think the more racing that is done via ZRS the more people will move into the correct categories, which is why I don’t understand why they wouldn’t have wanted to use it on the most popular race series if only for that purpose 👍🏻
