Hi Tammy, I'm loving this new series on how meds work. Awesome job! I am a 2nd year nursing student at Norquest and I have a video request! Would you make a video on the whole critical thinking process that goes on when interpreting major lab values? I feel it is a skill every nurse should have and I'm so overwhelmed when looking at them! I appreciate all the time and effort you put into making these videos. Thank you!!

Hi Jenna, I am only noticing this comment today (11 months later) ... I am sure you have come to realize critical thinking is something that cannot be put in a video ... I can do some videos on labs and will do that in the near future

I'm Food science student, tried using science journal articles to understand the function of acarbose in management of diabetes type II those just confused me. So thank you for simplifying the concept of alpha-glucosidase

But how it going to help if u have high insulin
@jhonnycaicedo56475 жыл бұрын
well it helps your body not have such high sugars in your blood stream because is inhibiting your bodies ability to digested, then your body will demand less insulin since it wont have such elevated glucose. But this drug is mainly to control your blood sugars but it also helps with insulin resistance, but it's mostly for keeping your sugars lower. if you have insulin resistance a combination of that still a low carb diet, exercise, and fasting will increase your body's insulin sensitivity, less demand for insulin while your liver is getting cleaned out and your pancreas takes a break. After a time of doing this you can completely reverse insulin resistance, or even type 2 diabetes the former might take longer with much more effort but it is possible. Your body will heal itself in due time
