Great job showing how you don't have to beat on it to straighten it . Light pressure with the right tools get it looking good with less work. 👍👍

So good. I see the whole process as art, but especially locating the studs and knowing where and how much to tap. I enjoy these high-quality videos.

You got me thinking about hitting the high spots to straighten the dent out. I've often wondered why panel beaters hit around the dented area.. think you might have answered my query. Good job jerry

Great video, Jerry! Great linked videos to similar topics. I like that you name you videos properly so when I want to search KZbin but did not know you had posted such a video, it directs me to you! (easy for me and others to come across them) Thanks for showing us some of the tricks of the trade & why your years of skill and practice make you so good at what you do! You make it look easy, but I know it is years of practice.

I love this channel. So much I decided to fix my daughters fender damage. Bought stuff based on your suggestions doing it this weekend. Hopefully I can get the fender flat as I only had glue puller and some dent removal tools can’t afford the harbor freight stud tool so going to try heating it up with mapp and hammering it lower for filler. Lol fingers crossed 🤞

When using your stud welder do you disconnect the battery?

Yes - any type of welding you should disconnect the battery - that's according to ICAR too :)

If I may ask, what sanding grits did you use to sand down the filler after the cheese grater? Thank you for another great video.
@LakesideAutobody Жыл бұрын
40 grit to start - nice new sharp sheet of paper. Then 80 grit to finish. Here's a good video on sanding filler and getting it straight every time. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKeTpnVjj9ulfNE
@blackenigma1054 Жыл бұрын
so let me ask you, great video by the way…..so how do you tell the difference in what you just showed us and someone just filling the dent with filler and just sanding it even and just painting it?
@LakesideAutobody Жыл бұрын
Good question. This dent would not be able to be just filled, sanded and painted. The high areas around the dent would show through the paint. You could just tap those high spots down (distorted metal that looks weird from the accident) to make sure they are low and fill but that is sort of cheating. Although I've done it plenty of times :) In the end, if the guy is good, you can't tell I one pulled the dent or not :)
