Yeah , I also faced this problem in BeamNG and I didn't know the solution , but I asked SkyFall and he said that : "It’s a problem with the simplified traffic vehicles. You can turn that off in gameplay settings but that will come at the cost of performance" So you need to go in settings -- gameplay -- scroll down to traffic and turn off the "Use simplified vehicles" section. I mean you select car you want to be in traffic, then press spawn new and in that way spawn 7 or 8 more cars (depends on how powerful your PC is) then you go to radial menu (press esc),then to Ai and select start traffic. And from that point you will be able to switch to cars from traffic BUT There could be another problem Maybe in game settings you also have switching to traffic vehicles turned off.
