I don't think so. It's good that we're getting updates, but in reality they're just so minor. Devs focus on little stuff instead of fixing fundamental problems with the engine - like parts clipping through each other. Completely deformed wheels holding air etc. It's been in early access for over a decade, and it's absolutely nowhere near finished. And now, what? A new truck? Well whoopdeedoo.

One thing to note with the Vulkan API is that it is Linux compatible, which means that with it's implementation into the game there could be a better possibility of a Linux version of BeamNG, for the 3 people on Linux who want to play it.

Does this mean that we'll finally get AI that can see the player when racing them, instead of just driving into them because they're on the racing line? The single biggest thing holding the game back is the AI, really. It significantly limits what kinds of missions can be set up for the player in career mode without having an AI system more dynamic than [traffic/chase/flee/follow/random/span], and I hope that we can get some kind of behind the scenes information confirming some work happening on that area of the game.

the traffic ai can see where you are so i imagine the racing one will eventually be improved. i think the dev meant moreso big updates to the base physics engine are getting more difficult.

@@0xsergy The traffic AI only "sees" you because it's programmed to brake for the player unless it's chasing you. Fleeing traffic commonly rear ends stationary or predictably driving traffic cars, completely ignorant to their surroundings. They cannot see well enough to have a race with, and their skill is poor at best.

I used to do truck pulls with my little bro by using the semi trailer dolly behind the d series or even cars with hitches. Using a 4x4 crawler box and no front driveshaft would allow you to get going and then swap into hi range and quickly shift down to 2nd or 3rd. Nice to see range boxes get native support
