Out of curiosity so I’m an ENFP and my best friend for 10 years is an ESFP well I understand my friend is very in the moment but what kinda bugs me is we will make a plan to hang out right and i’ll be excited looking forward to it, but then the day comes and they’ll text me being like I don’t know if i’m coming. I just don’t like making plans with them because of how they’ll feel in the moment I don’t want to look forward to something that might not happen. Any advice on how to make plans without expecting anything? Like how do i over come this feeling of disappointment in our plans never happening.

MitzyEditz If the reason was reasonable like feeling depressed or tired try to understand her more, some days you just don’t feel like going out without reason, but shouldn’t be frequent, to me i have been in your situation many times where friends bailed on me and didn’t keep their plans of hanging out, that’s why i made a rule for myself that I would never plan something I wouldn’t follow specially related to other people, cause I experienced how bad it felt. I say if you’re friend not aware yet of the weight and responsibility of her words, don’t take them to heart, try spontaneously going out or tell her to inform you sooner because it would be more reasonable and you wouldn’t feel as bad as knowing the same day, and try to make her see the situation in your shoes, i hope this help 💗

Great presentation, thank you. I'm a 50 year old male ENFP married to a 45 year old female ESFP. We've been married 23 years and it's been nothing short of an absurd adventure. I can attest to the correctness of the information in this presentation. Marriage has been a challenge but, there's been no deal breakers along the way, we managed to stay together. Needless to say now that we are older and melted together over the years the struggles have really developed both of us for the better. 💆 Failure is the key to success for both ESFP and ENFP. Look at it as studying life in regards to all the failures. It's all to become a polished diamond of a human. Funny thing is both our types try in the now not understanding that we are developing that we are ultimately creating a brand, sorta speak.❤

@@maria_s3731 ENFPs are the biggest Disneyland fans. That is a fact! They love the extroverted intuition dominance at Disneyland. Walt Disney was an ENFP. ESFPs don't care too much about putting together patterns and concepts because it takes away from enjoying life in the moment. They care about enjoying what they see in front of them at that moment. ENFPs live for dreaming with their eyes wide open putting together patterns and concepts based on how they feel not what is logical. Both have Fi so they tend to focus on how they feel. This video can actually help understand the difference between ESTJs and ENTJs and ESTPs and ENTPs as well. You will see that ESTJs live in the moment but in a more strict responsible organized way than ESFPs and ESTPs. I thought I was an ISFP because I am introverted when uncomfortable in my surroundings, focus a lot on my feelings, love nature, and use art to express my inner feelings. However, I am not a good finisher. I earned my associate's degree in business administration because I was a business student in high school and my dad payed for my community college education so I finished in that sense but I changed my major three times when I went back to college and I have yet to earn my bachelor's degree because I am afraid that I am not that smart. I had ADHD as a child in elementary school. I talk a lot to strangers like the cashier or someone on a bus. I am terrified of doing rehearsals in a play but I love to dance and put on a dance show in front of strangers when bored. I am terrified of failure. I get overwhelmed at work or in school sometimes.

Also. I trained an ESFP female about 15 years ago. She amazed me. She would take 911 calls and she would not write down anything. She would complete the call and then enter in everything directly into the computer. She would remember ALL of the details. My jaw was on the ground. She could easily absorb everything in the moment and keep it stored temporarily in her brain and remember everything. She would do this again and again. I was proud of her ability with 911 calls. That being in the moment thing is for real. She rocked it in ways so many of my trainees could not.

Chase, incredible. Thank you- first off. For your insight and unique schematic representation of various archetypes linking with cognitive functions. Very creative and reasonably easy to conceptualize. I hope to work with you sometime in the future. I would be happy to donate some time and experience to your channel and public curriculum- if that would be useful for you. I have been following your channel since the start of the pandemic when my friend (studying psychology; now partner; you would call him an ‘INFJ’) sent me a video. Immaturity, and my conformation bias, caused me to mistype myself initially as an ‘ESFP’- though I now would type myself as an ‘ENFP’. I have found your work very helpful in understanding the behaviour and thought patterns of myself and others.

I like how you put these two types together in this lecture!! I must be split personalities. I can distinguish myself between both for different reasons. I must somehow be 50/50. I never saw myself as manipulative, but I do know that my kids must see it, they have just identified it as, “No one can tell mom ‘no’”, and also, “mom doesn’t take no for an answer”. I always live by ‘rules are suggestions’, and especially if they are arbitrary. I’ve always told my kids, it never hurts to ask for what you want, the worst they can say is no. I know that my INTJ husband of 25 years has always said he hates to tell me no, he likes to give me more than I really deserve. He has spoiled me and the kids. You’re very proficient in personality types and I appreciate your hard work to help educate people on the types. It helps us understand each other better.

I know an ESFP friend whose freedom of choice was taken at her workplace by her boss. After a while, she collected all the data she could to show that her boss is doing a lousy job, wrote it in a letter and sent to the managers of her boss. She also managed to convince other people who also struggled from that boss to share their negative experiences in letters. Meanwhile, my friend found another good job elsewhere. Eventually, she literally destroyed her bosses future at this workplace, as the boss got fired because of her actions. Is that a Ne demon thing? I CANNOT believe I have been trying to approach my difficulties with my 7 yo, and his difficulties in the world, through the lens of my mistyping him as an esfp (and being extremely in resistance to that); when (obviously) he's been an enfp all along. Everything makes so much sense now! And this is also reassuring bc intuitively I've been aiming at heightening his empathy, consideration of others' feelings needs and wants instead of just his own, etc. Being spiritual and all, I was trying to figure out why the f the universe bothered to bring the 2 of us together. Me infj + Him enfp = A--ha!!!

If an ESFP taps well into their INTJ subconscious, do they become more socially and romatically compatible with types that an INTJ would typically be compatible with or does the compatibility stay the same ( ISFJ, ESFJ..etc.)?

@@CSJoseph Interesting, so the compatibility switches. So if a person marries someone who is in their ego social compatibility and later grows into which they are more often than not in their subconscious, I wonder if there could end up being issues since the person is now less compatible with the person they married. An ISFJ and an INTJ dont have high compatibility but an ESFP and ISFJ does. Could that switch ( ESFP to INTJ subconscious ) possibly cause compatibility issues for an ESFP ego and SFJs?

I agree. I've developed my my INTJ subconscious, and I have had odd people attracted to me, that normally wouldn't be. I had a ESFJ man totally attracted to me, thinking I was an INTJ 😂🤣😆 We ended up being good buddies, and he was a good supporter for me. Unfortunately, he passed in 2019 😭

@27:30 "force them to read non-fiction". OR give them non-fiction TV shows and movies to watch if they're like me and they find reading too slow and inefficient. God knows I, an ENFP, was OBSESSED with shows like the magic school bus, popular mechanics for kids, and kratt's kreatures when I was growing up, and I had little interest in books because they took too long to consume.

I (ENFP) dated an ESFP a couple years ago. I was actually in love with his best friend an ENFJ, but the ESFP was super manipulating and destroyed our relationship to be with me. So we dated for almost 3 years then I broke up with him, and he literally destroyed my entire social life. He suddenly turned into an evil plotting genius and took everything from me - even my own family. To this day my (wider) family loves him and hates me. Recently family of mine had a big wedding - didn't invite me, but he was their best man and stuff. Super awesome. Wish I had known all this information before. Thank you for that, better late than never xD

ENFP here. The Ti trickster illogical thinking has been bothering me for some time. I've had sleepless nights paranoid that I'm blind cognitively. I even asked some people I know if they think I'm good with logic and to my surprise they praised me for my logical ability and I think I agree. When I'm tired my thinking starts to lose some structure and tends to go in circles but to say we are not aware of true vs false seems like a bit of an overstatement. I've also seen huge improvements the more I train this ability. I mean It is painful and confusing at first. Don't you think the trickster like any other function can be developed?

It can be eventually yes. Rationale users find the truth too, it's just a different method. Instead of an if this then that process, they gather and weigh information.

Incredible video! It really made me consider whether I'm actually an ENFP or an ESFP after all. When I was in the depths of my OCD, I used to believe choosing a certain item of clothing to wear or taking a certain bus would lead to some kind of scary, terrible future event, despite there being absolutely no logical connection. I'd end up staying at home and not attending lectures while trying to investigate this distorted connection. It was like some messed up psychometry AND an inability to see the future. Any thoughts?

I’ve typed myself as an enfp for the longest time due to my fi and bubbly personality (along with other things of course but I can’t remember them off the top of my head lol) , but my best friend of seven years is literally an istj and I’ve always had an eye for fashion and aesthetics and like everything in a “superficial” way if that makes sense lol, for example if I like a painting I won’t like it because it’s deep or anything I’ll just be looking at the pretty colors. What do y’all think?

I test as both ENFP and ESFP. I happen to be a semi-professional singer. However, I don't necessary think that automatically makes me an ESFP. But I recently have interacted with 2 ENFP's and they seem a little more neurotic than me (if that's possible). I am definitely NOT about branding. I have never identified with that. But my ENFP friend is always saying she's the Louisiana Girl. And branding herself, I guess. I have always been into having flashy, unique hair. So maybe I am an ESFP. I have just always identified as an ENFP from previous tests.
