The black plastic wrap that farmers use I'd great for lining beds and go to a farm they have tonnes of the used stuff to get rid of.

Great work Terry. I have just finished building similar beds but out of pallets to avoid flooding at my allotment. You are lucky to be able to get pallet collars readily.

Nice one as always, and simple as it sounds, the good ones on the bottom and the older ones on the top makes them easier to change out. "Little and often," eh 🤣. A massive job mostly out of the way has gotta feel good. You should consider doing a "how to" for all of us who don't have access to pallet collars. We aquired 4 pallet collars, set them up the same off the floor, with muck on the bottom and old compost bags around the side. Will need to cut the top's off to let the wood breath. Hopefully some carrots will grow lovely.

🤣Yes if I was a giant veg I would love to live in those beds. Fresh beds are so satisfying. Going to try and grow Sapora Giant cabbage this year, even made a new bed for it. So excited to see how it turns out. I ordered some netting to keep the moths off the cabbages this year. We have had snow and freezing lately but I think the weather is getting warmer, at least low 30s F. Going to take the dogs for a run and gander at the garden while I am out there. Happy gardening back at you.

I take it that you check the collars have the "HT" mark and not the "MB" mark? There shouldn't be many "MB" left in the country now but you never know if an old one has re-surfaced from somewhere. Nasty stuff Methyl Bromide.

If they have done the grow properly then they would have flushed out all the nutrients to make the plant think its dying and then it produces the buds that they harvest so hopefully everything is okay. They pay alot of money for the nutrients, but never dump them......🤣. ♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.

Never paint your outdoor wood with gloss paint, only ever use wood preservative designed for outdoor use
