How Do I Care For My Nail Art Brushes? - Cleaning, Storage and Revitalising Your Brushes

Hi guys,
One of the biggest questions I get asked is how do I care for my nail art brushes, and if you are one of those people who ask, then this videos is just for you.
You need to keep your brushes in good condition, no matter how much you paid for your brush, and how good you think it is, if you do not take care of it, you may as well just give up now.
Each type of brush needs to be treated in a different way, and in this video we look at my Acrylic brushes, a Gel Brush and a small painting brush. Now I have collected these brushes over years and can't actually remember exactly where I got them from, but you'll be please to know that I am helping Naio to develop some amazing brushes which should hopefully be available later this year.

You've def become my fav nail lady! Lol'ing at the outtakes, but whatever I need, you have a video for it. On top of that, you are easy to understand for a Texas country girl (who happens to love your accent!). Having said all that, I grew up with my mom owning a ceramic shop and learning all of the brushes, uses, types of paint, etc that were used for each application. I have not found anything as satisfying since my mother passed away, as you have shown me with nails. The brushes, techniques, etc, are so close to ceramic and porcelain painting that I am overjoyed to find a new hobby!

thank you I also wanted to tell you I tryed my first stiletto / ballerina now all on my own on my thumb nail my son is stationed in Korea said it was cool my husband said it looked too sharp I think he's afraid I'm going to poke him with my thumb nail we'll see how long I keep it I love you watching watching you create your nails and I don't mind that you didn't have yours on for that short time I know you have to let him go to so often I feel I have to leave and if I'm having someone else do or I do them myself which I'm doing now. Excellent suggestions for cleaning and maintaining brushes!! OAN; I am a licensed nail specialist in Florida and the shops here won't give me a chance. I know I am not the typical small framed man, but I always thought my portfolio would speak for itself. Unfortunately, shop owners/managers see a Cornfed 6'3" country guy in Wranglers, a button down shirt, and boots walking in, and they instantly say no. Aside from changing who I am, what should I do? I have a nice portfolio, but they won't even look past my exterior to see the skill set I can add to their shop! Any advice is appreciated greatly!

Thank you so much!! Can you PLEASE do a how to efile series??? There isn't anything out here about how to efile. It's so important and actually very dangerous.. Sharon Hoelzle the gel residue wipe off solution from the Naio brand is nothing but isopropyl alcohol. They are literally the same thing. If you get the gel residue wipe off solution from naio, if you look on the back of the bottle, the only ingredient that it's made of is isopropyl alcohol.

Sharon Hoelzle I haven't tried Naio Nails brand but I have used other wipe off solutions brands. In my opinion, regular alcohol dulls my gel top coat some where the wipe off solution does not. That's the only issue I've had.

I'm going to cosmetology school and the girls there don't take care of their brushes. so the finish a client and put everything away. and go to use it the next day and a "nail" has formed in their nail I always tell them clean your brushes before you put them away or your going to have a headache when you need to use it

i really wish i could afford a better brush. I'm Barely learning how to do acrylic. I've been doing my own nails in Gel for roughly 3 years and I'm still learning lol. i bought acrylic powders and monomer and a brush and the nail trainer hand so i can practice acrylic but man oh ma does the acrylic dry so fast. i have like 7 seconds to mess with it before it doesn't move anymore lol and i follow the ways to get a bead of acrylic, but man it doesn't work lol. I'm assuming that my brush is just horrible, or the product is way too fast drying.

Kirsty likes to use size 8 or 10 acrylic brush, but when you're beginner we would recommend size 6, because some people find hard to pick upt the bead with the right ratio of the liquid and the powder.

THE GLITTER PIXIE to clean your gel brush, use a gel cleanser or isopropyl alcohol. I recommend leaving the gel in the bristles and flattening it with a paper towel or a lint free pad to keep the shape and the bristles together. Keep your brush away from sunlight, or else the I've radiation from the sun will cure the bristles.

THE GLITTER PIXIE yes. Especially with color gels or glitter gels, use the cleanser or isopropyl alcohol. Color contamination is the worst. I am a board certified cosmetologist/nail technician and I get asked that a lot.
