Find the thickets that you don't want to walk through. Somewhere that beagles would jump rabbits out of. If you can shoot an arrow 15 yards without hitting any branches or thorns or grasses, that's probably not thick enough to be a bedding area. Somewhere that cedar trees and thorns and dogwoods and other saplings grow together is always a good bet to be a bedding area. If you can't figure it out, wait until you get snow on the ground and go find where their beds are

Another great one guys our CRP has been amazing bedding for us and when it comes to funnels, fence rows and creek beds are some of the best funnels.

Great podcast as usual! I’m good with the Airing of Grievances for the first 10 minutes or so, keeps it real, it’s funny, and I got long drives.

Another great episode guys. My experience on the Pennsylvania ridges I hunt is that the mature bucks usually always bed on the top one third of the ridge watching over everything below them with the wind at their back and they don't always bed in the thickest areas. I think a lot depends on your area. I have also seen them bed where you would least expect it. Keep the great topics coming.

Another great podcast yall never disappoints. plan on using this method to find some bedding areas. On a couple new piece I got permission on. I did what you said and knocked on prolly 100 doors maybe more and got 5 new pieces I'm allowed to hunt. Thank you for giving me the confidence to make it happen. Would literally be so lost if I didn't find this podcast

Another great episode. I hunt in SW IA and the area I hunt is a natural pinch point between an ag field and a wooded area. I may not see the biggest deer in the area but there is always activity.

Love the podcast, always great info.. always 10/10 podcast, and perfect timing. Just got a new piece of bow hunting property, hoping to get some raised scents out this week, got my tags, and waiting on Oct to get here..

At 27:30 you guys were discussing thick areas and advantages the deer may or may not have. The deer laying in the thick with wind to back can see just fine they will be looking for movement. anything they dont see they will probably hear from a distance.

I liked what he said about the late rut in Montana. People say that the further north you go the early it is. Up here in New Hampshire I see the most aggressive rut activity November 18-25 ish
