Man Jerry! I just started watching your videos. I've done stand up for a few months. I've had about 10, 5 minute sets and have bombed 3 times and did well 7 times. You give a way so much free information, that is of such value. I can actually now see the science behind why some sets fell flat and others didn't. There really is a formula to what makes people laugh. Also you have awesome videos about how to market yourself. And yea, you gotta receive to give. I mean, when have I ever walked into a potential job in my profession, where I said "hey can you guys give me work?". No I had to interview and get a chance to tell them what I can do to bring value to their company. Same concept with trying to get booked. You're awesome man. And also you walk the walk.

Such great advice. It's not about memorizing material. It's about practicing so often and being in the moment that it just flows

This is the best channel ever for people starting or even doing comedy. I’m likely happy to find this channel so late to be able to watch so much content. Please keep it up even if u have to do the same sort of videos just giving your different ideas over time and with u changing as a teacher will help someone that might not have clicked with the first video

Thanks! I’ve been writing & performing comedy for 33 years. So if I can impart some of my experience to help others who are wanting to do the same, that’s what I try to do!

Another great video Jerry! Thanks for giving so much teaching on this subject. Makes me think of an interview I saw of the late Robin Williams. He said his acting teach told him to work on impromptu as much as possible and it would force his acting ability to improve in his comedy. Also your video also made me think of Jim Carey because his stand up was always so emotional and full of acting out his jokes. Thanks again man. 😎👍👍

Yes, my voice gets quiet at the end of the jokes, or I go too fast, or I step on my laughs because I’m slightly nervous. I have to get on stage more so I lose my fear of a joke not getting a laugh.

Jerry! I've been going up for a few weeks now, and overall going well. I owe a ton to you! Amazing channel. I have a #humblebrag question. Occasionally I'll get a REALLLY big laugh. Like feels like a 10-20 seconds. And I stand there very awkward. I film myself and I just stare down at ground haha. How do I handle that? I know to wait and dont talk over the laughter... but what do I do?
