To the questioner who talks and sings to themselves a lot: using your vocal cords stimulates your vagus nerve and so it can be physically relaxing. It could be a way to self soothe and/or another defense mechanism that is possibly used to prevent painful emotions from coming up. I would question if you have any trauma or if it wasn't safe to express emotion at some point in your earlier life. I do this as well, so my perspective comes from my experience.

Hi Kati, journaling to recover from my childhood trauma with the help of my therapist was life saving. You should have a copy of my book tomorrow to read which you helped inspire me to write. I look forward to your feedback. God bless.😊

I have a question, not sure where to ask. I have DID and at times I feel okay, and other times I feel depressed. I mean depressed in decline in self care, motivation everything seems so hard to do. Yet when I am not in the depressed mood, I feel happy and able to get things done. I think I present depressed more of the time lately. Is this lack of chemicals in my brain or more so distorted thinking? Thanks

I think we all recognized she simply had an itch on her nose and was able to really take care of it toward the end. Been there myself, as well all have. I know you're just making a funny and that's all good. This is my first time watching her. I will certainly be back. Anyway, much live and best wishes to you. I guess I just randomly felt like talking to you lol ;)

For the question at 33:19, that person also may benefit from a neuropsych eval too. It sounded a lot like ADHD to me but really just generalized executive dysfunction--either way, eval is good.

Nadia Bolz Weber says forgiveness isn’t about saying “it’s OK”. Forgiveness is like wielding bolt cutters and cutting the chains that link us to the things that have caused us pain. I think that is a really cool way of putting it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJnQg56LqbWll5o
