Thanks brother. Man had a car wash rip one of these off my truck. what a trip. Dealer wanted $500 finally got a salvage one to replace it after looking for like a year. So i'd rather reattach one when I see it loose than go through that again.

I have an older Ford Taurus and the lower door panel fell off. I believe the clips are broken. I wonder if double sided tape would work for that. We have tried all kinds of glue and none worked.

That's a REALLY good point! I would be especially worried about this with painted trim. I wasn't worried about scratches in this video because the trim is chrome and very durable, plus it's not in perfect shape as it is, but bare plastic trim and painted surfaces are MUCH easy to scratch, so thank you for pointing that out!

How well does the tape hold up when going through a car wash/bad storm?

That’s what just happened to me I went through the car wash and park at my job get out the car and seen the it sticking up.

If you use the high quality stuff like 3M, and prep the surface correctly, it will last for a very long time. The tape is closed cell foam, so it will not absorb water, and this is the same product they use when building these cars new. The key is proper adhesion! Clean with soap and water, dry completely, do a final pass with a very clean cloth and alcohol and you shouldn't have any issues for many many years.

Andrew Campos it’s an adhesive eraser wheel. Works like a charm! Just don’t overdo it or you’ll melt the trim.

Not the right way to do it. Need to use double sided molding tape adhesion promoter. And clean with Isopropyl alcohol. No brake cleaner.
