I hope this blesses some... 🙏 I was 5 years of chronic illness! I was Semi Housebound, lost my health, job, finances and my fiance left me. My husband encountered this when his uncle was dying. He lived on the other side of the country, so we had a pastor go talk to him in the hospital. PRAISE GOD, he led Donald to the Lord. Donald then told his family he got saved. After he died, the whole family attacked us for "pushing our religion on him", as we are Baptist and the whole of his family is Catholic. My husband simply told his aunts and uncles that he's sorry they are upset, but that we aren't sorry for sending someone, and Donald isnt sorry we sent someone because he is with Christ now.

Excellent question. It is so hard when a loved one dies not knowing Jesus. I have had to content myself with the fact that I had shared my faith many times and even prayed with them and for them. I hope that in their last moments they called out to him. I will not know till Heaven, but I hope. This is not the sure and certain hope that we have as believers, but we know God wants to save and hears even the faintest cry to him. We may meet many people in Heaven that we didn't know would be there and sadly some who we expect to see will not be there. Come to the Lord people. Heaven and Hell are real. Make sure you know where you are going. ❤

I want to add a couple of things to the helpful advice that was in the video in case it leads people to have wider pastoral vision. I am 56 years old - my mother died this week - she was 84. In the last few days and before she died I found myself having to deal with feelings of fear that she might be in heaven. That's not commonly what people feel - I just feel that people should know that this is a possible reality for some people. My fear was that God would look past her emotionally manipulative and abusive character - that I would be confronted with it not just throughout my life but for all eternity. To my surprise God spoke to me clearly about two things - firstly that I need not feel anxious that I did not show more grace in recent times in the hope of winning her (after decades of seeking to be a representative of the truth in a transparent and vulnerable way without her changing direction). He said to me that it would not have changed her direction - he had already said this to me repeatedly before - but he was now in effect saying she would not be with me in eternity. Our job as Christians is not to ensure that people are saved - it is to work and live for God's holiness, justice, mercy, and grace to reign in the world - which will see some saved and others not. And secondly we should not act at times when people are close to death as if God has not been active throughout people's lives seeking to draw them to himself - people's salvation is not subject to some randomly distributed message.

Thanks for sharing. One question: did you find any mercy in you for her fate? My dad was abusive but I still hope something got through to him before he died. I wouldn’t wish hell on anyone. Jesus spoke as if it is appropriate to see all relationships from the perspective of the kingdom: Matt 12:50 ESV For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother. Believers are by virtue of being born into them in relationships with family. They also connect for varying lengths of time with those who don’t believe - I say for varying lengths of time because sometimes it takes an hour to know that God’s character and truth have been revealed to a non-believer and they have made a clear response to it and sometimes it takes a lifetime for that to become clear. I find though that when the non-believer chooses not to value God and his mercy this begins to affect my relationship with that person - they have chosen not to value at all what I consider most valuable. In that circumstance I can no longer consider that person a friend - only someone I may know well or have history with. I used to think this was a less than responsible approach - I believed that we should not have ‘friendships’ with people in order to convert them and then walk away when they are not interested - I was eager that people understand that God’s feeling love for them was independent of their choices - but this isn’t the only issue of concern. Jesus is saying in the verse above that he sees all his relationships in terms of the kingdom. When we set our lives to have his priorities we may still feel emotions for people - anyone from family through to someone on the TV screen who is going through great suffering - but we know that we also have power to manage our emotions - not to indulge them - we must ensure that we don’t allow our emotions to change the course we have set for our life. This means that despite the fact that I am my mother's son and that my history with my mother and father was obviously deep and long I am seeking to act in the following way - to let myself feel emotions that exist (not seeking to suppress them - nor to generate any!) but then not wanting to indulge in emotion that begins to whitewash reality. We cannot pretend we were extremely close to people who didn’t in any way value what we consider most valuable and we shouldn't act in ways that amount to refusing to wholeheartedly worship God for his holiness and justice as much as for his mercy and grace.

Intimacy between two people isn't created by one person's willingness to tolerate the wrongdoing of another - and it isn't definitely created when we do what God calls us to do - to be a demonstrator of God's character and proclaimer of his truth - if the other person doesn't when presented with these things respond positively - and finally intimacy with someone isn't the result of going through shared life experiences with them. Christian unity is the SHARED EXPERIENCE of two or more people submitting to the lordship of Jesus. Therefore no person can create unity with others only via their own decisions. Read Ephesians 4 as proof of these things - it explains that true unity between people grows as their individual holiness grows. We can damage unity and if so we have to repair it but we cannot create it only by our obeying God - we can only leave the door open to it by our doing so. The message of Christianity divides people - it isn't God's desire for people to be divided from each other or from him - but God knows there will never be any true intimacy with him or others without it happening in Christ.

I'm a christian and have been for sixteen years now. I study my Bible daily at least twice a day according to Joshua 1:8. I attend my church on a regular basis every Sunday morning except if I'm not feeling well I'll stay home but other than that I attend my church every Sunday. And I have my own little bible studies when I'm alone and it's peaceful and quiet. And I pray in a quiet place I talk to God. So with that said, even if we don't preach the gospel verbally right out of our mouths you can show it in your conduct daily and wherever you go in this life and people will see it and when they see it, they want to know why you are like you are. Or your friends see that you have changed and they want to know what is your secret. Both of these are key points here, because that will be your opportunity to speak to them about the gospel once they see your conduct. Also then again, just like Pastor John said certain ones you do not preach to. Just like the word says there is a season for everything. I just thought I'd add in a little bit there. 🙂 Philippians 1:27 says only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ so that whether I come and see you or am absent I may hear of your affairs that you stand fast in one spirit with one mind striving together for the faith of the Gospel. That was the apostle Paul saying that and he said let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ. And that's what I mean when I say even if you don't preach it verbally let others see it in your conduct. 🙂

When someone is emotionally unstable and near death is the perfect time to remind them that they will spend eternity in hell. You have every right to fill their last few hours on earth with the fear of eternal damnation. Don't give them any peace. Scream and shout if you must. Just remind yourself that you love them. Keep doing it until they finally see the light.

Hi I've been with this thought too for a while.. I donno if you are saved or not But we are not compelled to receive Christ into our Lives Invitation is open to everybody It's not God's wish who sends people to hell.. But its their own choice of rejecting eternal life For me living eternity is soo awesome not coz I'll be alive for eternity but I'll be with God for eternity And it's really scary to live for eternity with the same heart I've now.. in this same world ,it's a Hell to me to live for eternity without God!!! I donno how I sound to you But this is true GOD is supreme Love

Everyone has a right to choose. Some people are evil, and just don't care about others. On earth is so much Injustice. So God will make justice when he comes. God is long suffering. He doesn't want anyone to perish. He gives people many chances to turn to him. But he can't force someone to love him, as you can't force someone to love you.
