I know whenever I pray, I can expect attacks and warfare from the enemy almost immediately, even in my sleep in my dreams I am attacked. That just shows me that what the bible tells me is true: The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. The attacks absolutely are not fun, but I do take delight in knowing that on the account of the assaults, I can be confident that my prayers are heard and accepted and the Lord is working on behalf of my requests. Amen. Keep your chin up, saints. Rejoice. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.

Yeah I get attacked in my sleep sometimes as well. I’ll have abnormally dark dreams which I know didn’t come just out of no where. When I first got saved I would have very dark dreams where I would hear the name Satan over and over again. They just mess with you. The enemy doesn’t play by any rules.

This was really informative! Thank you Pastor John Piper for this, How even in our daily lives we must, and learn to wrestle in prayer. Wether it's discipline by waking up earlier, or something like that. Like living our lives with faith! And I thought after that, even in times where, we're doing something else, like our jobs etc, we can still "wrestle in prayer". Thank you! And Thank God for showing us his wonderful wisdom that through it we may learn to grow closer to him all the more!

The Lord is near! Amen. God is merciful. He always forgives. Never be ashamed to take your failures to him. He is for you, not against you! God is with you in the storm. He knows your troubles, he hears you! He is for you, on your side, always! It may feel silent at times, but he’s holding you close! May the Lord return soon! We are drawing closer. He is coming! Believe and trust in the Lord, you will be saved. Period. May the Lord bless you all! Hang in there family. Stay strong. It is not easy following the Lord. We are scoffed at. We give up our earthly dreams, our fleshly desires. What the enemy offers is short lived, but heaven is forever! Life may seem or be unfair, but God is with you! Always remember that. @@pootypotputt So in prayer are we wrestling our own desires in order to submit to Gods desire for us? If so, that would makes sense because we are to rejoice and pray regardless of our circumstances. Jesus wanted God’s will for Him to be done regardless of how it felt in the moment it seems like he had to lay His desires aside in order for prophecy to be fulfilled. I honestly never looked at it like that though.

Guys.. WHAT IS THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR? why do you "interpret, discern, struggle" with anything? Do you not trust the Spirit to guide you into everything? Into all Truth? To speak to you? To show you anything you ask? To give you power, authority, understanding, wisdom, miraculously in real-time? What did Jesus say about the Holy Spirit to the apostles before he went to the father again? Remind me.. you of little faith!!

Is it that you don’t know what to say, or that you’re putting pressure on yourself to say it the “right” way before Him? Little children often don’t know what to say to their parent, but oh how the parent loves having their child in their presence just being with them. The parent soaks in every precious interaction with a heart swollen with love . You don’t need to be fancy with your words or make them glorious before Him. He wants relationship, conversation, and even silence just sitting with Him. He never turns His face away from His child just because they don’t know what to say or how to say something “right.” This was something I struggled with because I was in the same place as you. Now I’ve found peace knowing that it’s okay to be small and simple like a child in prayer. God loves you. He understands your struggle, and He knows your heart. Romans 8:26 “Now in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.”

"How Do I ‘Wrestle’ in Prayer?" (Sorry for the VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be said) Hmmm kind Sir...because the word "wrestling" (struggling, etc, by some).. reminds me of Jacob... Who had a real, literal "wrestling" with the Holy Spirit. And since Jacob was SO determined he was going to win, all night; the HS broke his thighs. WOW! So I believe... That was caused by Jacob's quintessential ego-head and selfish at that time; Jesus, through His Holy Spirit; was going to bring that "BRAT" (Where, his mother did that! Dadgum her!) down to earth. To teach him; that he is NOT going to get everything he wants. Like marrying a woman; he did NOT love and waiting 21 yrs; for a woman that he did love. That died with her second child. Which tore Jacob up. But he deserved it! And 10 of his children tried to murder Joseph (11th child). And when Reuben had cold feet; they sold Joseph, eventually, a slave of the Pharaoh in Egypt. And they told Jacob; he had been eaten by an animal. And He believed it for yrs, screaming every night. But Jacob deserved it too! Not to mention; that he sired 4 of his sons from two "Egyptian slaves". Which was adultery to the "Nth" degree! That made Jacob; to have 13 children (one female "Dinah"). Where 9 were thoroughbred; and 4 were half thoroughbreds. Which God commanded NOT to marry any one; but another Hebrew. OH so true. Like Samson, David and Solomon, etc. And ad-infinitum; to this day. I said: all of the above to say this... As long as men (mostly) that want more than ONE woman; and they are Born Again Christians; they ARE going to have "wrestles" with our Holy Spirit! Until we LET the Holy Spirit guide, lead and direct us; to what we SHOULD be doing! And that is: GO back to your wife; and confess your "abominable sins"; to her AND to Jesus. And ASK for forgiveness; for what we have done. Because IF we don't do that sincerely; Jesus will command His Holy Spirit; to punish us so painful; we would think it feels; like it's hell on earth. And WE deserve it. Oh yes we do! And I say this, "Paul move over for I am far more the 'Chief Sinner'; than you are will ever have been". For I AM one of one of those "horrible adulterers", for 76 yrs. And I "AINT" bragging. I'm just stating a fact! And may Jesus have mercy on me for what I have done! For I blame NO other. And I deserve to go to hell. But because I am Born Again, I won't got to hell. And worse: Jesus took her (the most precious woman I have ever known) from me 14 yrs ago. And I would give half my soul; to just hold her in my arms one more time! Because, the hurt will last until I draw my last breath. It AINT worth it men! End of "gory" Story and I rest me case... ...In any case Brethren, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!
