Thanks for this, didnt know about the max regen feature, i did know about the auto regen feature. But why wont it stay in the regen mode? It always resets every time i stop the engine. Must be a way to save my driving mode

@@retroonhisbikes thanks for watching! Unfortunately, a lot of these modes reset after you turn off the vehicle so you have to reactivate them you are correct 👍

Nice! The HEV doesn't have that 4th MAX level when you hold the paddle. I am happy that the PHEV has it. Will pick mine on Monday :) P.S. Brian, if you had the chance to test it, do you find a significant difference in the facelift PHEV in comparison with the pre-facelift PHEV? Especially in EV mode, does it act the same and take the same load before it triggers the ICE?

Hello Brian, taking delivery of my Company car Tucson in a couple of months, so I have been pre-learning as much stuff as possible from your channel. A question on regen braking. As I understand it, the levels are 1 - 2 - 3 - and also AUTO (?) is that correct? And it kicks in when you are not pressing the accelerator pedal.... If you were using Adaptive Cruise Control...so you do not have your foot on the accelerator at all, at what point would the regen braking kick in? And also, out of all these settings what would you genrally reccomend for most efficient driving? Thanks for all the useful content

@@SanDanWu ok 👍 Phev has settings 1-2-3-auto yes .. they regen braking will kick in when you are not accelerating correct .. basically it operates where a normal car would just freewheel instead. In the case of cruise control the regen will work in the background when not accelerating I can’t be 100% sure but I suspect auto is the best setting as it will engage the correct level of regen braking depending on recent driver inputs where it’s trying match current driving with an appropriate level of regen Hope that helps !

Your videos are very useful so thanks Brian, When setting it to Max for regen does it remember this setting when you restart the vehicle or do you have set it to max or LV 3-2-1 every time ? I am trading in my UK spec 2021 Tucson Ultimate PHEV with Tech Pack for a 2025 Tucson N-Line S PHEV with 4WD next month, so your recent tips on Autohold, Paddle shifters, Speed Limit Warning and Brake cleaning mode for the new Tucson have been very valuable.

@@src019 I appreciate the kind words! At the moment, it looks like you have to reset every single time. It doesn’t seem to be possible to keep a preferred regeneration level unfortunately🙂👍

Hey Brian. If you choose MAX, will it stay on that setting and then come to a full stop every time you take your foot off the accelerator? PS This car seems unbelievable. So many features it's amazing. I purchased mine last week and it arrives in a few months.

Brian. Are there limitations in relation to charging points that can be used for a Tucson PHEV. Are some of the charging point to "strong" for the size of battery in a Tucson PHEV. As the Tucson only comes with a three pin plug cable
@doolanbrian6 ай бұрын
@@kevinrattigan507 the car has an on-board charger which will only accept a certain level of charge so it’s decided how much charge it will take. So you don’t have to worry about ever overcharging it’s per se if you get me?

Do the paddle shifters work the same way on the regular Tucson Hybrid? Particularly the hold to break feature.
@doolanbrian4 ай бұрын
@@jgordon881 just to be sure. Are you talking about a brand-new one, a 2024 into 2025 model will have regenerative braking. The 2021 model up as far as early 2024, however will not, does that make sense?
@jgordon8814 ай бұрын
Sorry, rewording the question. Do the paddle shifters function the same way in the PHEV model you are driving vs regular HEV? I've seen videos of the HEV paddles adjusting the regen level but never the holding of the paddle down to fully brake.
@doolanbrian4 ай бұрын
@@jgordon881 it’s a good question, so basically on the plug-in hybrids they allow you to hold the left paddle down to significantly slow down the vehicle, almost like a brake pedal would, on the full non-plug-in hybrid, it does have three levels of regeneration, however, it doesn’t allow you to hold the left Paddle to slow the vehicle more significantly like the plug-in hybrid🙂👍
