@spacemangalaxy9987 Жыл бұрын
@@litapd311 This is how 3D TVs work (with "shutter" glasses that block one of your eyes at a time alternating left and right). In that case, there's an infrared LED on the TV that pulses to set the sync of the shutter glasses. I assume there is a similar clock/timing signal for the cameras (although it might be wired, not IR).
@djevanclark Жыл бұрын
@@litapd311 I work at this stage, we use a masterclock that generates a 59.94 tri-level genlock signal on separate outputs. We use a timing offset in the clock, so the second camera has a timing offset of a certain number of sync lines that lines up with the same offset in the processor.

In theory, since the screen can support multiple cameras at once, you could take a pair of active shutter 3D glasses, place tracking markers on them, synchronize them to the screen, and create the immersion experience Cleo was expecting at 3:01. This could be useful for allowing a director to see what a set "really" looks like.

The refreshing at 120 fps and capturing at 60 fps bit is also how 3D tvs with active glasses used to work. Both sides contained liquid crystal and would turn opaque to change what each eye see. This way you wouldn't lose resolution or color, like in polarizing or red/cyan glasses.

About 20 years ago I realized that the next revolution was "modeling". What can we model, and how realistic can we make it. Look at what we've done with 3D virtual modeling, 3D printing, speech modeling, weather modeling, gene modeling. AI is modeling of the brain, or intelligence. I didn't think that we'd be modeling actors. Modeling is advancing so quickly.

THIS is what I find so fascinating about Apple Vision Pro: with it's automatic background removal, motion-tracked camera in the headset, not to mention depth scanner, you can effectively shrink 'the volume' down into a headset. So you're wearing the camera/volume and you are shooting another person in a blank space. The background and lighting is composited with your subject in using 'deep compositing' in Vision Pro on the fly. It's more appropriate for TV right now, but there's no reason cinematic results are not possible. I also think it's a beautiful historical replay of shrinking the camera obscura - the 1st camera was a room - which with film, we could shrink down into a box that fits in your hand
