Meg-mo blades came out with this idea already

I got the Cutlass for my electric Kobalt 80v that only has 2 blades. Thanks so much for the review, this is a game changer for lawn maintenance. Taking the blade off with no tools in 4 seconds is worth the initial price alone. The lift and mulching ability of this blade is ridiculous on my Bermuda, Zoysia and Centipede lawns.

We've had a lot of rain so the pond is holding 5-6'. For now, it's on the back burner as we build our house. Thanks for watching!

I wonder how they would do with a mulch plug on the outlet?

Have you tried the Gator G5 or G6 blades in your mowing conditions? Curious as to how they'd hold up with the sand/rock issues you mentioned...the G5 has tungsten carbide infused into the steel, as does the G6 blades...the G6 blades are heavier duty commercial grade blades. I've ran the G5 blades on my lawn tractor for several years, and after 2 seasons of mowing an acre every week, I haven't had the need to sharpen them....after the 3rd season they had a few nicks in them from hitting rocks, but still didn't need to sharpen them....before the 4th season I took them off and sharpened them but probably would have been ok for the 4th season. See if you can get some Gator blades, and try them out and see what happens. Something that people overlook on mowers, is the blade tip speed....many mowers have lower tip speeds for "safety", but the higher blade tip speeds give you a better cut quality, they leave less stragglers behind and they bag better as they have better lift.

Hi, is it possible that when you mowed with cutlass blades, that your ground speed was a bit faster, that would account for a few more stems. I have some cutlass blades coming for my Ferris 61in mower, anxious to see results. I mow about 2 acres of good lawn, and another 3 acres of field that is getting better all the time, but a lot coarser grass then lawn, so will be a great test. Thanks for your review!

That will be a good test. They work great on out 6' finish mower!

Sand? Bahia? In Florida. 😂 mowed yesterday and grass isn’t filled out like yours. Just put 3 new blades on a 42”, $45. At double the price, and double the blades, it would be interesting to see how yours hold up.

We pulled soil samples after clearing 6 years ago and have amended the soil to grow the best grass we can on this sand! Sometimes benefits like mulching ability outweighs cost....for others, they will stick with traditional blades. Good to have comparison points though.

Where can these blades be purchased

Bahia should be cut 3 inches high at least. Its also a very tuff grass. Finisha blades fro. Australia are good and have a different cutting pattern.

I dig it but that’s double the price of two new sets of gator blades. Can’t do it but that’s neat.

They are not for everyone, but they do mulch great!

I do not think people realize how abrasive Florida mowing is on lawnmowers. After my first season of mowing in central Florida, I was blown away the condition of the blades they were total junk. Coming from New England blaze the last multiple seasons and just need to be sharper once maybe twice a year. In Florida, they need to be sharpened at least weekly to do a nice job

very true. The good news is our mower decks stay cleaner (and we don't have to shovel snow)!

Thanks for showing me how to make one myself now… just like I’m using a trailer that’s made to copy it and start making my own… it’s east to make a trailer and the cost so much … gee if I make one trailer and it sells for 40,000 … gee that’s more than a lot of people make in 2 yrs…
