I was absolutely not expecting to fw/ this. Honestly, I imagine two "mainlines" One is every 2d platformer starting at the NES Super Mario Bros The other is every 3d platformer starting from SM64 The rest are "spinoffs"...kinda. A lot are their own series (ex. Mario Kart or Sports), but the ones listed above are the "main" mainline. Edit: Concerning remakes, I imagine its like a flashback. Still mainline, just not chronologically
