While i love the mario land games, 6 golden coins was a big game for me on the gba, they don't belong in the mainline series. You frame it as the "home console" argument but you should instead view it as the primary gaming console of the era. The GBA was NOT the main console of the era. I also think the supporting characters play a role (Bowser, peach, etc). I don't believe Wario has ever been an antagonist in a mainline series game. Same goes for New Super Mario games. For starters the game mechanics/controls feel really different then any of the mainline games including things kike Galaxy. The gameplay and story don't fit. And I'm not 100% sure but I don't think they released on the primary console of that era either.

Super Mario 2 (USA) should always be included in the mainline. The fact this is still a question annoys me. It was released, original release on the primary Nintendo console of the era, the game title is clear. The "lost levels" should also be included in the mainline. The only difference is how we reference them between regions.

I was really hoping you addressed what was my main criticism of your first video: the context in which Hangman is typically played. As a vocabulary exercise with a word bank, most of the jank the teacher could theoretically get up to is removed, even if the teacher acted maliciously within the confines of the word bank for some reason. Some of the quibbling (non-derogatory) over what counts as a letter could remain, but some of it could also be cleared up. Take your n vs ñ example. Whether these are different letters or the same letter with a diacritic is, as you identified, dependent on the language the game is conducted in. That language would be predefined in the context of a language classroom. If Hangman were played in a Spanish classroom, for example, then the students should be expected to identify n and ñ as different letters. Overall, I still loved the extra 11 or so minutes of analysis of Hangman.
