She touched my heart. I grew up with cruelty because the right side of my face is paralyzed. As I aged I became quite beautiful to most, but still some made fun of me even as I grew older. Cruelty is not just happening to kids. I was working for a law firm. I had several surgeries that helped. Unfortunately, getting old (65) is a challenge and not so pretty, but the guys aren’t looking at me these days, they’re looking at my daughters who are beautiful and always have been. Life is hard for people who don’t look quite like you.

Same here. I'm only 15 and even I understand what an amazing person Lizzie is. If any of my friends or peers said anything negative about her purely because of her appearance, I would ditch them. Judge a person on their actions, not their appearance. Most teenagers know this.

Like srsly. Parents play a big role in mental health of a person. If my parents didn't focus too much on my appearance, I might've had a but more confidence in myself. Cuz these days, whenever I'm talking to someone, I think "is my double chin showing up?" Or "am I looking weird?". And this all started ever since my mother and siblings started calling me names whenever they were angry. They might've vented off their anger for the time but they made me feel miserable and I can't forget little thing like that. I wish I was mentally strong like this girl (I admire her so much). Tho I'm trying to change but it's really hard...

6:13 this is very important, her parents did not go the next day to complain to the school because their daughter has been harassed by some bully. Her parents know that they have to give her the courage and intelligence to face the reality of life. When we overprotect our children, we victimize them and create overly sensitive adults. Behind this wonderful strong girl, there are wonderful parents, family, and friends.

have you ever experienced bullying? When no one does anything about that and tells, o sweetie, Im sorry you go through that but that's life, this fucks you up. Bullying is not a reality of life and yes, when you go through that other things might not seem that bad but what's the cost of that. Some people get a thick skin and some of them get depression, anxiety and kill themselves. Reporting the bullying is not overprotecting.

The reason people cried listening to her story isn't pity. It's that they can imagine how much she'd struggled and gotten hurt until she became such a great and beautiful public speaker. What a wonderful woman. I'm still looking for what defines me. I want to prove who I am by my accomplishments in the future like her. Thank you so much Lizzie for the amazing talk!

Those who told her to kill herself, actually were projecting their own inner turmoil. She's the hero. They, unfortunately, are the zero. I hope they can find one minuscule of the character and beauty she has.

Her voice is so cute. Speechless... I'm not having her syndrome but i am as thin as hers. I have hyperthyroidism. Truthfully, everything she's experienced also me too. Sometimes i do feel like "why am i here/live for? Should i die?" people keep saying/talking bad about me (specifically my body). Thankfully ive found this video is really2 helps me. Truly motivates me and made me cry because there are still a human that is so strong to face this tough life/people. I truly wish i had her strength. Thankyou Lizzie. Youre an incredible woman.
