For some context, Flowey's knowledge of Papyrus' favorite food is only revealed in an Undertale Q&A back in 2016 (the entire thing was the same question asking about Papyrus's favorite food). In Undyne's response she guesses that his favorite food is spaghetti, which Papyrus says is wrong because he's never eaten it before. Undyne asks why he always makes it and he says it's because everyone else likes it. Flowey is the final person to answer and this was his response: Flowey: What? Papyrus's favorite food? Flowey: It's that oatmeal with dinosaur eggs, idiot. Flowey: ... Flowey: Hey, why am I the only one who knows the answer to this stupid question!? The interesting part is that Papyrus "doesn't know" the answer to this question, and when Papyrus asks Sans, he also "doesn't know". However, since Flowey knows the answer, Papyrus must have told him at some point. Both Alphys and Undyne think his favorite food is spaghetti, which means he doesn't just tell that to anybody either.

@@Fort_Master implications? its basically confirmed. we know how hard sans fight is. papyrous has way higher stats then him and actively trains for combat. plus he has the self control to never kill you in his fight. he is the only monster you can not die to. even toriel does not have that much control over her magic.

The only way Sans and Papyrus can defeat the anomaly would be to convince the anomaly to care about you in a positive way Otherwise, the cycle repeats endlessly.

Yes, this is why Flowey can not be defeated by Sans or anyone really. Without any affection for them, they become a mere collective of dialogue and attacks, and even if Sans killed Flowey many times, in the end he too became easy and boring to him. That's why Sans doesn't even bother fighting Flowey in pacifist ending. He knows he stands no chance.

Papyrus dosn't actually like spaghetti, he has never try it himself by the time the Game happens, he just things everyone else like it so he keeps making it, he admits this himself in some of the in Game phone calls. He also shows signs of not being as unaware and naive as he seems

If I remember right , the only reason Flowey lost his power to reset and save in the first place is because he became so bored from doing every outcome possible , he let time move forward , at the point when Frisk fell into The Underground .

It easy to forget, however, if you ever done the Sans Fight ™️. One of the dialogues to progress has very direct mention from Sans of "Timelines jumping left and right" in relation to players reset in canoncity and them identifying an anomaly with implication of someone else assumed Alphys typically. This seems to dial it up by using details such as Sans entire monologue in the genocide fight, "giving up" attitude to situation, knowledge on quantum physics, and the entire dialogue chain into unique narrative about Sans, Papyrus and Flowey/Frisk as Sans fight against anomalous Time Traveler. Restricting information by being the "laid-back troll" he is and Papyrus empathy/kindness as naiveity and Flowey antagonism assumedly. Fun fact, Though process required to see this has you reset several times at Judgement Hall in neutral/pacifist route so Sans acknowledges it, then messes with you by getting you to say dumb things next reset in your desire of wanting to know more about sans, leading to him getting you to end up inside his actual room, you end in dark room, than Papyrus turns light on and acknowledges it causally as Sans pranking through Time and Space again as though that most ordinary thing in which after that you finally retrieve access to key to his surreal lab that is 90% of reason people think he might not be from this reality besides for genocide fight line of he gave up trying to go back AND the surface doesn't appeal to him either, with photograph of strange people and words Don't Forget. Sans shortcuts are often viewed as either magical teleportation or literal warping of space.

How do you get to know a time traveler? Short answer, you don't. Because if we talk about linear time, the events that occurred in that questioning would be in paradox between reaching that thought and never having it. Long answer in comments.

If someone says, "I'm going to make a time machine and travel to this specific day to give me the machine ahead of time so I don't have to make it", There are 4 alternatives: 1. a portal opens with the you from the future giving you the time machine at that moment and you will have to give it to another you becoming an endless loop of unnecessary deliveries. 2. Nobody comes because you weren't able to make a time machine in the first place. 3. Nobody comes but you were able to make the machine but due to universal causality something prevented the delivery from being successful. And 4. You forget get the exact day and time and you prefer not to make the trip, either because you never made it or because you made it but you never manage to prove it

Where does Deltarune come into this theories premise? Genuine question. I mean... I guess it’s because you never saw the other route but San’s outright says in Undertale that he knows about the timelines resetting and was investigating the source which was the player.

Sans is currently the only character to retain the exact same appearance between Undertale and Deltarune. In addition, the secret back room in Sans's house has a broken down machine and an old photo with "don't forget" written on it, which seems to be a reference to Deltarune's main theme "Don't Forget". Thus, it's long been a theory that he, and potentially Papyrus too, originated from the Deltarune universe. The general theory is somewhat light on the detail of exactly why Sans would dimension-hop over to Undertale, but this video suggests it was an intentional decision in order to stop Undertale's time anomaly. Also, there's a significant chance that Sans isn't actually entirely correct during his geno monologue, in assuming the player is responsible for the time anomaly. It's fully possible for the player to reach Sans without dying once, without playing neutral/pacifist first. However, no matter what, Flowey has reset hundreds upon thousands of times. Flowey truly made the timeline jump left and right, only ever stopping when he was truly, 100% bored with everything. Nobody has any idea who Flowey is in the timeline where Frisk arrives. So, when Sans finally, finally meets one overtly malicious and unstoppable anomaly in this incredibly long timeline, he does, what he doesn't predict is that he only met the second time travellr, not the first.

​@@matthewr6148I mean, we know Flowey got thrashed by Sans many times, and even wards us against letting him "know ANYTHING" about us. Every time Sans got a hint that Flowey was the anomaly, he just killed him. Also, Sans says the same dialog about timelines jumping around even if you fight him on your very first run of the game, so obviously he must be talking about Flowey initially. Plus the only reason he doesn't immediately kill us upon seeing us act unusual is because of his promise to Toriel, leaving him in a position where he has to watch and only act if there's no other option. He's honorable like that. Fortunately, the player tends to be pretty benevolent most of the time, but that probably makes it even harder to take when good things happen, knowing it's more than likely about to all reset soon.
