similar situation here except for the flirting. we talk like friends. he asked if i am still single then wanted us to meet up, he said he wanted to be good friends with me (also mentioned that he doesnt want to give me false hope because he apparently doesnt want to hurt me) but shortly after the borders were closed once again. long distance (different countries) makes everything harder and i am pretty sure getting back together would be a lot easier if i lived in the same country or the same city. :/ we still talk and he is the one who is initiating actually, the phone calls are about an hour each time but i am still confused because we broke up so years ago without cutting our ties completely.

thankyou for this insight, my ex broke up with me and he expressed clearly that he didnt want to, but he couldnt see a future with me anymore ontop of realising how much he needed to work on for himself. We both want to still be friends and are working towards that currently. I knew to some extent that I wasn't faultless in making this relationship unsustainable for him- but I didnt know where to start. the three c's really made me stop and think truly about how I treated him and while I love him, I admit I could have been a much more compassionate, patient and attentive partner in his time of stress of and struggle to fix our relationship before the breakup happened. so thankyou, I may not be able to get back together with him but I'd like to at least try, and to learn from it and maybe show him as a friend that I'm growing and trying to do better, not just say I will.

My ex really insists to be friends and only friends. I think that is because I've become a part of her family. She sees me as a "sister" ouch.... she doesn't see me as a "sexual partner" anymore and wants to seek it elsewhere. Her mother took me in for two years when I had a rough time with my own family. So her family is my family now. I think part of her wanting to break up is because I was too scared for her to break up with me, I was too clingy and jealous and needy. Because I thought if I would lose her, I would lose my entire "family". I had been depressed and unmotivated, but I'm a lot better now. When she was breaking up with me I asked if there was any chance for me and her to get back together, she said unlikely, but maybe. "I don't want to give you hope" we were holding hands and crying together when she broke up with me. Also good to mention, I accepted to be friends at the point of the break up, so I don't know if that will change any chances. She has moved on to another girl within a matter of days. I see my mistakes now and I'm working on them. I think we had something really special and we had a very, very strong emotional connection because of the things we have went through together, but maybe I came with too much baggage and that's why she left. Ive been in no contact for 20 days and I'm taking it day by day. She told my mutual friend a week ago she loves me very much and it would break her if we couldn't be friends. She also said that she misses me and that she doesn't understand that I'm doing well and why I haven't worked on myself when I was with her. (I wanted to but I needed to do it for myself, not for her) and she also told her she doesn't want a relationship with me anymore. We were together for almost 6 years and were going to move in together on the 1st of November. She still wanted to move in and live together as friends and still sleep in the same bed, but luckily she realized that, that wouldn't be healthy. I don't want to throw it all away just to be friends. I really need some advice, but I can't afford personal coaching. So any advice is welcome.

Tell her that you have been thinking and that you actually are not ok with just being friends and that it’s physically impossible for you to be around her without it being normal to be with her hold her kiss her and things like that tell her that you are willing to keep seeng her and that you are not gonna focus on labels but that you want to to keep seeing her and sleeping with her if she says no which she probably will since you came out as a guy without options or confidence of getting another option in the near future she will probably back away so let her go if she calls or txts you directly then simply say you would like to see her and make a day for her to come to you at your place not hers very important but your place to hang out have fun and hook up with ie sex.. if you go to her she might think it too easy and get the vibe that you have been destroyed by her.. also likes and indirect comments on social media do not count ex if she comments about something on your facebook id just maybe like it or leave it as is unless she comments you directly dont ask her to come over.. while you guys are together do not talk about the past or future be in the moment with her dont worry about labels how much she likes you nothing like that its very important you let the girls bring up the relationship talk so just focus on hanging out having fun and ultimately having sex those 3 things are good for now till she calls or txts though do not call her untill she goes to you at least 3 times where she is coming to you at her own pace then call maybe once a week but i honestly wouldnt even call her at all id let her do 100% of the pursuing from this point over because instead of working it out with you she just left thats not cool in your mind she has to earn another chance with you and you have to feel it and believe it cuz its true it takes strength to want to better yourself i had it rough too but i learned a hot stove is the most effective teacher

Here’s the thing. During this quarantine there is literally nothing to do. Ordinarily I would be traveling (I already have plane tickets I couldn’t use because of Covid) or going out for drinks with my girlfriends. I’m old, so neither of us pay attention to social media. She broke up with me yesterday and I feel so sad. We were going strong for almost a year in 5 days, but she has been dealing with depression and anxiety. I did not do anything thing wrong and neither did she, but she told me it hasn't been the same since last school year. I don't know what's changed because we both still love each other and do and say the same things we always did. She was putting too much pressure on me to fix all the problems and if I didn't it was my fault whether it had something to do with me or not. That's totally fine if you feel that the progress seems slow. But it is better to make small attainable goals for you to assess if you are making progress, not just on getting back together with your ex but even with your own self improvement as well. :-)

What's it mean when you ask your separated wife in person (we were treat or treating with our son) if there is anything you want to talk about, and the only thing she wants to ask you is if your currently seeing anyone? And then when you don't give her a real answer, she gets noticeably upset and when you asks her if there was anything else she wants to ask or talk about, she says no, that that was the only thing she wanted to know? This is something that keeps happening, too, even though she's been in a rebound relationship for about 7 months now, and I'm getting the sense that the rebound relationship is kinda meh, even though she won't admit it.

She wants to know if you are dating someone else because she wants you back! Why else would she be asking that question? Bro, you’ve gotta think, women are not straightforward creatures like men, she’s not gonna say to you “I want you back” she’s gonna sneakishly gather information about you without being direct...in this case: “Are you dating anyone?” Is women language for “I WANT YOU BACK”
