Simply don't commit to people what they have proven they cannot/don't VALUE. Nor give wise councel to fools or people who never sort it. The fool would completely despise it and the other would blame you for their misunderstanding.

Agreed! I don't want to give up on anyone, and when I do it's usually out of discouragement rather than obedience. I just pray that the people I witness to in my life, if they reject it when I tell them, that God would reach them with someone else.

There was a man who I talked to about Jesus many times and he rejected Him every time. Then one night I said about the same to him and he said, "Oh you know I am not a Christian don't you?". Sadly he died without Jesus. But there are many others who reject Jesus in almost a violent way if not in action it is in words those are the ones Jesus is talking about. When He said not to throw pearls to the swine He was meaning not to waste your time on those who will not listen.

Yes, I know that scripture but only now have I realised I may be doing just that, as I have been engaging in debate with Atheists in the hope that one of them will engage with me in a sincere way. Many of them do not and end up using insults rather than an honest debate. However, I have recently had three people continue with me in earnestly discussing the existence of God, one of whom is still with me and is serious about our discussion. He is highly educated and extremely knowledgeable which makes me think he is either a scientist or at least an academic. He has not revealed to me his real name but I don’t mind. I have found through these few people that my pearls are not being trampled upon and may well bear fruit, as though I sow the Lord gives the increase. Time will tell

@@stoner_vinny Well, one that I had a very long email conversation with going backwards and forth, including lots of referencing to recognised scholars and philosophies, started out ok. After weeks of discussion and debating he finally gave up and stopped emailing with me. I caught him out in his logic. He originally made long winded statements about his position and then contradicted himself later on. I think he tried to have it both ways, which, in a debate you can't do that. I was sorry to see him leave as I thought we were finally getting somewhere. The others also ended on good terms (no abuse) but im not sure what eventually happened with them. One of these were JWs who I had numerous face to face discussions with, over several months on a week by week meeting at my home. At each of these meetings there would always be someone more experienced in their teachings who would accompany them. This keep happening until the original two whom I started the debate with no longer came and was instead replaced with two highly regarded scholars of their persuasion. Two very senior people in their ranks. Not being put off by this I continued with the debate and finally managed to get these two to be completely stumped. They could not fault me in the debate and acknowledged that they had never come across someone who was so well versed in scripture. They eventually could not dispute what I had said as I took them very slowly through their teachings and kept relating this to the bible (mine was the new King James study bible, theirs was their own version which I also had read). After doing this they were completely flabbergasted and were shocked to see the hidden truth in the bible about who Jesus really was. It is very clear when you take them through scripture linking the old testament with the new and letting them also follow with their own version which also has the same truth in it. The final revelation to who Jesus actually is actually in Revelation. I had done a lot of study on the trinity using a very good book that was written by someone who had been a JW and then became converted and had had a born-again experience. I cannot remember the name of the book as I lost in years ago. But the Lord must have knew I would lose it as for some reason I made a copy of it by hand and then used my notes to construct the argument.

@@stoner_vinny I honestly can't say that they did, but I am certain that after our sessions they were left seriously wondering. No, I have a PhD in organisational Sociology. The debate I had with the JWs was just before I entered University at 33 years of age. I have always had a passion for knowing the Lord and of spiritual matters ever since my conversion in my late twenties. Whenever I talk about the Lord and engage in the topic its like a fire starts to flare up inside me. I become so enthused it energises me. My knowledge of scripture was gained from the teaching of the Holy Spirit and from my own curiosity. My belief in God though precedes my conversion as a born-again christian. I had a near death experience as a child where I visited God's Holy City where I felt the Father's presence and where I met an Angel. You are not bothering me at all. I am happy to discuss this further with you of you would like.

Amen. Sometimes it is hard because you want them to believe. I got banned from a smallgroup because I told them what happened when I got batised in Jesus name. That the lust of the flesh was taken away from me, exactly how it is written. (Galather 5, 16: This I say then, Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfil the lust of the flesh.) They didn't believed me and then we prayed together that God shows us the Truth through his Word. And he gave all of us the same page (a whole chapter) who affirmed what I said 100% and I read it out loud but they didn't wanted to believe it. They wanted to live in sin instead. I only could go away in peace because God showed me he will make them see the Truth one day.

Do you think it's fair to consider someone who believes in God, but not necessarily that Jesus is God (i.e. non trinitarians, Muslims, Jews), swine? Or should we consider them to be brethren and have theological discussions with them, hoping they will come to the realization? The leader of the church I'm attending now considers those listed in my example above to be swine. I don't, however. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I consider the "least of these" in Matthew 25:31-46 to be those still outside of the kingdom. Because Christ died for all, we should minister to all, correct? Even the dogs and the swine? I am struggling with the idea that Christ considers some unworthy of being preached to.

Jesus' "pearls" are the Wisdom He Is. The swine are the foolish men...Jesus is recalling here the Jewish Wisdom Literature where the wise man does not share his wisdom with fools, because they would rather attack you. This is a common theme in the Old Testament. As in Sirach: Sirach 22:13 Do not talk too much with a foolish man, and do not visit an unintelligent man; guard yourself from him to escape trouble, and you will not be soiled when he shakes himself off; avoid him and you will find rest, and you will never be wearied by his madness. another example Jesus echos the teaching in Proverbs: Proverbs 9:7 -10 He who corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse, and he who reproves a wicked man incurs injury. Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you. Give instruction to a wise man, and he will still be wiser; teach a righteous man and he will increase in learning. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. So the Wisdom Jesus is, and the wisdom He teaches is not to be shared with the fools, who are the swine. ... All throughout the Sermon Jesus references Wisdom ( as in Solomon, known for being most wise , building a house, etc and other metaphors.) That the Apostles and Jesus referred to Himself as Wisdom is hinted at in the Gospels: Luke 11:31 (&Mt 12:42) The queen of the south shall rise in the judgment with the men of this generation, and shall condemn them: because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold something greater than Solomon is here. .. 1 Corinthians 1:24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God… .. Colossians 2:2-4 That their hearts may be comforted, being instructed in charity, and unto all riches of fullness of understanding, unto the knowledge of the mystery of God the Father and of Christ Jesus in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. ... Ephesians 1:17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. If we continue on in Matthew 7, we get to 15. It says beware of false teachers who come to you in sheep's clothing. Who are they? They preach a false gospel of works salvation. They preach another gospel, not the gospel of the GRACE of God. Romans 11:6. Then we go on to Matthew 7:21-23. IT says, many will come in my name and call me Lord, Lord, but look what we have done. Why we have prophesied, in your name, and cast out demons, in your name, and did many wonderful works, in your name. And Jesus says, depart from me ye that work iniquity, I NEVER KNEW YOU. You never did the will of my Father in heaven. John 6:40.
