Guys if you don't have vtec DO NOT WORRY, there is a solution: Get AT LEAST 4 vtec badges (any less and it won't kick in). Place 1 badge on the trunk, 2 on the side fenders and lastly (the most important location) on your dash. Once you're done, start that bad boy up and rev the nuts off of it a few times. You now have vtec.

Ok, so I have really put in some work on my car. Rebuilt engine a few years ago and transmissions clutch. But recently I gave it a tune up, new wires, plugs, new fuel filter, air filter, oil and oil filter.. I added some Techron in the gas tank a month ago. Added SeaFoam in the throttle. Cleaned out the IACV. Adjusted the Thermal valve, tightened it down a bit... New Pcv valve, new radiator and heater core hoses, flushed radiator, etc. And it's really picked up some Power and immediate response. I am really impressed with this little car. And now around 4,500 Rpms, all of a sudden it's like a Power band it just starts to really kick into over drive and takes off... so fun now!! It seems like Vtech but I am sure it's more like a power band on a Motorcycle...

You can tell if it has vtec without even popping the hood. Just listen to how the car starts. The vtec engines turn over at a higher pitch and also sounds more electric (if that makes sense). the non-vtec will have a lower pitch and does not sound as good as the vtec ones do.

The best way to know if you have a Vtec? Drive it. If you get a surge of power at around 5500 RPM, it's a Vtec. Unfortunately, mine isn't.

If you have an Acura it's easier for you to find weather you have a V-tec or not, cause it says it right on the engine, it's a really good engine, powerful while driving it and going fast and the sound of it as well, you can hear it and tell the engine apart from others.

take it up over 5500rpm, if you hear a noticeable change, you have vtec. Might have VTEC-e which you probably won't be able to hear a change, but anybody asking or looking on youtube doesn't care about VTEC-e.

Just underturn the exhaust valve 8,28%, and make sure your hypercooler is properly connected through your DAF to the turbos ignition. If the DAF sits lose, your E-8 can not boost your vtec.

Ex Hx civics all have SOHC vtec engines. SI type r civics have DOHC vtec. All integras have dohc engines. Some don't have vtec tho. Not sure with models .

If it has VTEC it will say so on the engine top? Seems like most newer Hondas have some variation of VTEC, with iVTEC being very common.

It doesn't necessarily say it on the top of the engine if it has VTEC or not, but if it does, you definitely have VTEC. Otherwise look for the solenoid as in the video.

Another easy way to know if you have vtec is most if not all vtec heads (single cams) have the spark plugs/wires on the bottom of the "Honda" b series motors all have center spark plugs/wires so yeah look for a solenoid iThink my explanation was better

Just below the RAX connector to the IPC4 pump. You might need to disconnect the brakevalve on the lower gearpair.
