Using the cross diagonal issuance of power and the psoas muscles I truly enjoyed the explanation by an Uechi master: water, water, water, rock, water. Also, a Kosho master stated 7-10. Projection at the speed of 7 and retraction/ letting go at the speed of 10.

Thanks - love you videos! I love how you express kime in an equation form. If I may humbly offer this: here's how I have expressed it similarly: decisive technique (kime) = power generation (saku-ryoku) + body connection & transition (zentai-ryoku) + short-power delivery (chinkuchi) Where, chinkuchi = (difference between relaxation and contraction) / time of application So thing that increase kime, would be: 1) more power generation. 2) more efficient and smooth kinetic linking. 3) the bigger the difference between muscle relaxation and contraction (which means the more relaxed you are before and after the muscle contraction at delivery, the bigger the difference). 4) the shorter the time (the higher the speed) between this difference at delivery. Curious you thoughts on my equation! Anyways, thank you for your videos - I think they are great! Osu! Garry

Wow! The idea behind our equations are the same, but this part was described more precisely in yours! chinkuchi = (difference between relaxation and contraction) / time of application Thanks for sharing! By the way, do you mean "chakuchi" when you say "chinkuchi"?

Hmmm... not sure. I’m not a native Japanese speaker, but the kanji is supppsed to be: 一寸力 Here’s a brief discussion by Yokota Sensei: asaikarate.com/what-is-chinkuchi-チンクチって何だろう?/ I think chinkuchi may be the Okinawa pronunciation... Anyways - once again, love your work and thanks for sharing! Osu!

Do you have some exercises for the hip? I really confuse the hip turn between stances. Fudo dachi, kokutsu dachi, zegutsu dachi. I think this is the true essence of what you describe for energy to flow through the body till the very last minute at the punch. If the hip do not cooperate properly, as you say, the power is somehow trapped in the middle.

I sure karate is somewhat related to Chinese martial art (not sure if it's Kung fu), but I've never heard about the relation with the Indian martial art you are talking about. But it's interesting! Do you have a website that I can read?

@@muhammadfaiajhossain3742 Shito-Ryu did definately not come directly off of Jiu-jitsu. Its founder, Kenwa Mabuni, was a real encyclopedia. He simply couldn't get enough of karate, so he trained under any and all masters he could, be it Shuri-te, Naha-te, or Tomari-te. This is the reason why Shito-Ryu is such an incredibly massive style, with right around 60-ish kata, in its syllabus, depending on organization, of course. Its fantastic for us that enjoy kata, but its kind of outrageous, when you think about it. Some styles have less than 10 kata, for reference. Anyways, Shuri-te, Naha-te, and Tomari-te originally came from China, as Tode, which I believe means "Chinese Hand". Karate, and Shito-ryu with it, has evolved into something of its own, but originally it came from chinese martial arts. Not japanese jiu-jitsu. That they may have had some influence on eachother, is probably very true, but is probably more dependent on style, and the organizations within the style, more than the art itself.
