You are a good teacher, I always notice many people don't know how to use their hip properly when doing mae geri, your first tip is very good for beginners.

Those are really helpful tips, just subscribed to your channel. Arigatou gozaimasu! It would be good though, if the music wasn't as loud. I sometimes could hardly understand what you said. Keep up the good work!

So I'm a new convert to Karate. I came from a competitive career in Muay Thai (and will always love Muay Thai). I did this because I moved and there are no legit Muay Thai schools or instructors in my area, and I've fallen in love with Karate. Also, I analyze movement in Kata from a Muay Thai perspective, which is both good and bad, as I see things that karateka at my level don't. I also misinterpret things because of this. It still, when I become a black belt, I hope will give me an advantage to see it from multiple points of view. Anyway, one thing I've noticed with high level karateka is that they throw it much like a teep kick from Muay Thai. It's more snapping, obviously, but the hip activation is almost the same. When a good person throws a mae geri, that ball of the foot is almost like stabbing into the opponent. It's actually really cool. I shouldn't be surprised. Good body mechanics to generate power are good body mechanics, whether you train Muay Thai or Karate.

Please lose the music. It adds nothing and is only a distraction. The video as such is one of the best karate videos out there. Far superior than 99% of the rest.

Unsuccessful shooting of the video, the angle is not visible. There is no way to see the side. The kicks are all directed to the side, and there the screen is cut off. For what? The entire athlete and all parts of the screen must be visible. The whole picture was spoiled by the unfortunate position of the video.

Очень круто. И хорошо, что вы на английском на видео разговариваете, а то на японском вообще было бы не понятно.👍👍👍👌 P.S. Hello from Russia!

I'm about to turn 20. I used to do karate when I was 8 years old and I gave up when I reached the yellow belt. Now I regret that decision I made. I want to join a karate club again but I'm shy and ashamed because I'm afraid that I won't succeed at it.

Good video however maybe i misunderstood the center of gravity point. Watching you do your kick your center of gravity pretty much stays the same. The first two points kind of contradict each other. The center of gravity must be shifted to the front knee. This not only gives the kicking leg more stability but strength as well. Also shifting the center of gravity thus allows for a longer kick. Just saying. Keep teaching!

I do NOT recommend kicking with the top of the foot and break bones! RATHER the ball of the foot with toes up bent backwards!

You are indeed a good teacher. However, the person that did assemble your video and included music perhaps did not check his work. The music got too loud and passed a certain, I just could not hear you, which was most frustrating....given the value of your instructions.
