My wife was making a lasagna and needed several cans of tomatoes, tomato sauce and tomato paste opened. I got out every SAK and multi-tool I had and experimented with each style. I agree; the superior opener is on the Swiss Army Knife. It is a little cleaner & safer. Each style requires a different technique although they all get the job done. Good video demonstration.

Cool vid, I have the exact same Gerber multitool, with no coating, that I got in the late 90's and I still use it to this day. Was $100 when I got it here in Canada. Used the can opener so much that I had to sharpen it a couple of times. Keep making sharp things fun.

When I went to Basic bat at Ft Knox waaaaaaaay back when, it blew me away how many guys had never been camping or even in the woods before! Forget about ever having handled a gun at all.

My Aussie can opener got me out of a jam a couple years ago when the pop tab on a couple cans failed and the standard twist can opener could not reach down to cut the lid. saved me from having to use a knife to open the cans while doing advance food prep at my mosque. This one looks like a p51 bht doesn't fold

I use the Felix method. A good tip is to were a glove on your off hand. So if you slip you will not stab your self. Have you tried this method doc?

I have never tried the high speed thing. Not for any specific reason besides I really like that satisfying little popping sound every time the blade pops through the can.

The red one is a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. They come.in a LOT of different models with different combinations of blades and tools. You can find them all over the place. Amazon sells all sorts and price ranges.

We house sit and care for people's pets while they are away. We were shocked how many kitchens only have an electric can opener. They also don't have a pizza wheel or an ice cream scoop. It it ain't take-out I guess they don't eat it.
